The tool kit is progressing well...
Thanks for all the amazingly detailed info and advice.
Does anyone know the correct model for the Jack?
Some research I've done suggests its a Shelley 7DL but I'm not totally convinced. If anybody could send me a photo that would be brilliant .
Also should the jack have a curved plate on top to locate on the main chassis or a flat top?
Any advice greatly appreciated.
Have a great weekend.
Nick

Hi, Thanks so much for all the info so far, some more questions. This time paint related.
I've done a bit of research and it looks like AC Princess Blue is the same as Jaguar Opalescent Silver Blue.
Is anybody able to confirm this for me or correct me if I'm wrong please.
Also if anybody knows a modern paint code that would be brilliant.
Many thanks Nick

Ace, Aceca & Greyhound Forum / Aceca Bristol tool kit and jack
« on: June 05, 2021, 10:50:29 »
Hi all, hoping you may be able  to help, I'm lucky enough to have the original tool tray for my Aceca but sadly it's very empty!  I've worked out what is missing and that the spanners should be made by Garrington and there's plenty available on eBay, but does anybody know the spanner sizes and whether they are  af or whitworth. I've attached a picture from the internet which looks like mine just a bit blury though.
Also would love to be able source an original jack, if anybody knows the make and model that would be great.
Many thanks Nick

I know this now quite an old post, but does anybody know the contact details for Frederic? Alternatively I'm looking for some seat runners for an Aceca for both seats.
Any advice greatly appreciated.

Hi Paul,
Thanks for the info, they look great and I'm literally 20 mins away from Lancing, however I've got something in place now and pretty confident that they will turn out just as beautiful as yours.
Huge thanks to fellow AC owner Chris for very kindly allowing me to measure and photograph the bumpers on His lovely Aceca and to Gerry at Hawk Cars.
I'm sure the contact at Pipecraft will be really useful to other members of the group.
PS if anybody needs any measurements or diagrams / photos of Aceca bumpers just let me know

Many thanks

Nick

Hi Luke, this looks pretty similar to the locks fitted to the Austin Healey 3000, might be worth having a look on AH Spares website or Ahead4Healeys.

Thanks so much for the info everyone, I've also looked at a previous post which has the measurements for front and rear for both the Ace and Aceca.
Chris I would love to take you up on the offer of your old bumper to use as a pattern, I'll pm my contact details and hopefully we can work out a plan of collecting it.
Many thanks again

« on: April 19, 2021, 23:08:16 »
Hi Jonas, I'm finding my self tuning in each day now for the next episode of "oily speedo", desperately hoping for another clue to help us find the culprit!......
I have had a thought which could be a possible cause, or if nothing else one more thing to eliminate. Oil foaming, I'm guessing that when you changed the gearbox you would have also changed the gearbox oil. Is it definitely the correct oil?  Not just the correct viscosity but also the correct specification, modern oils have lots of varying characteristics, for example some oils will have anti foaming additives, others high detergent qualities, others may be be particularly suitable for brass synchro, (GL4 for brass not GL5).
I'm fairly new to the world of AC's but I'm sure there is someone on the forum who could let you know the best oil to use.
Hope this is of help.
Nick

« on: April 18, 2021, 15:11:12 »
Hi Manuel.
I've attached a photo which should help, this is on a 1960 Aceca Bristol, the photo is taken from under the car and you can just about make out the battery terminal, behind the n/s/f wheel area. This is an original UK right hand drive car, not sure if a left hand drive would be a different location?? or if the AC engine version would be different?? Hope this helps a bit .
Regards

Hi, Im looking for some Aceca tubular bumpers (front and rear), does anybody know where I could source some or know of anyone who is able to make them up without an old unit as a pattern?
Many thanks in advance.
