Ace, Aceca & Greyhound Forum / Bumper end caps
« on: February 04, 2023, 23:36:48 »
I'm getting a few sets of bumper end caps made, and just thought I should double check that the original ones I have from my car are actually correct.
I've attached some photos, if anybody could confirm that they are correct that would be wonderful!
Thanks in advance.
Kind regards Nick

Hi all,
I'm cleaning up a few bits ready for painting etc and have found that my accelerator shaft linkage has an extra 40mm approx welded in to make it longer. Would anybody be able just to confirm the correct length please. I'm guessing it will be around 140mm? I've attached a photo which will hopefully explain a bit better!
Any help greatly appreciated.
(This is for the Bristol engine.)
Many thanks Nick

Ace, Aceca & Greyhound Forum / Aceca window channel
« on: December 14, 2022, 11:07:32 »
Hi,
I'm struggling to find a supplier for the front side window channel on my Aceca. The old bits I removed were really badly corroded and deteriorated. They are made up from thin metal u section which is lined on the inside and outside with thin velvet material and these then slide into the upright parts of the front window frames.
Any advice in finding a supplier greatly appreciated.
I'll try to post a picture later on.
Kind regards Nick

Ace, Aceca & Greyhound Forum / Aceca Bumpers
« on: May 06, 2022, 23:55:04 »
Hi everyone.
I'm in the process of getting some bumpers made up for my Aceca.
Over the last year and with lots of help from other Aceca owners, (thank you to all involved!) I've been able to get some really accurate patterns of both front and rear bumpers from 3 independent cars which still have totally original bumpers, ie with the correct lengths and radius for the curves, front and rear being slightly different.
The new ones are being made in mirror polished stainless steel.
Having done all the research and made templates, it seems a bit of a waste just getting mine made and there is also some cost saving in quantity which I'm very happy to share amongst other members, so I'm considering a small batch of possibly 10 sets, ie 10 pairs of front and 10 pairs of rear.
I'm just gauging interest at the moment so if your after a new set of bumpers please do let me know.
To give you an idea of price it should work out around £250 plus vat per end (ie £500 plus vat for a complete car set), this includes specially machined and welded in end caps.
I've got no idea of the level of demand for these so It would have to be on a first come first served basis.
Feel free to reply with any questions you may have or to register your interest.
Have a great weekend
Kind regards Nick

Ace, Aceca & Greyhound Forum / Aceca Furflex / door seals
« on: October 30, 2021, 13:02:07 »
Hi all, I'm trying to source some Aceca door seals, I'm pretty sure Woolies Trim stock the correct ones but unfortunately I haven't got the originals to compare and also am not too sure how they physically attach to the car.
If anybody could send a a photo of the seals and how they're fitted that would be amazing!
Hoping you can help.
Many thanks
Nick

Ace, Aceca & Greyhound Forum / AC paint code
« on: June 05, 2021, 11:06:49 »
Hi, Thanks so much for all the info so far, some more questions. This time paint related.
I've done a bit of research and it looks like AC Princess Blue is the same as Jaguar Opalescent Silver Blue.
Is anybody able to confirm this for me or correct me if I'm wrong please.
Also if anybody knows a modern paint code that would be brilliant.
Many thanks Nick

Ace, Aceca & Greyhound Forum / Aceca Bristol tool kit and jack
« on: June 05, 2021, 10:50:29 »
Hi all, hoping you may be able  to help, I'm lucky enough to have the original tool tray for my Aceca but sadly it's very empty!  I've worked out what is missing and that the spanners should be made by Garrington and there's plenty available on eBay, but does anybody know the spanner sizes and whether they are  af or whitworth. I've attached a picture from the internet which looks like mine just a bit blury though.
Also would love to be able source an original jack, if anybody knows the make and model that would be great.
Many thanks Nick

Ace, Aceca & Greyhound Forum / Aceca seats
« on: April 05, 2021, 10:41:06 »
Hi all, I'm Nick and new to the forum but hoping you may be able to help me in my search for missing parts for my 1960 Aceca Bristol, there is going to be a few I think and I'm gradually compiling a list over the coming weeks.
I'll start my search with Seats. Both the seats are missing, quite possibly in a trimmers somewhere in the UK?.
The car previously belonged to Terry Harrison who I believe was an AC Owners club member, so first question, Does anybody know where Terry might have sent them to be re upholstered? This would be a miracle I know, but worth a try.
If not does anyone have a pair of seats for sale?
Lastly if none of the above are available does anybody make the seats?
Thanks in advance

Nick
