   The Mobil ad implies that the photo of 98 filling up refers to the LA Times GP held 9-11 October 1964.

Last weekend I made another acquisition:
   
   
   
   Note Lindner / Nöcker, Sutcliffe and Protheroe on there Jags in the entry list:
   
   
   
   Not in the entry list are Schlesser / Attwood (#99), Vincenzo Arena (Italy, # 100), Bondurant / Neerpasch (#101). #102 dns.
   
   
   
   Arena wrecked CSX 2323 in practice hitting the trees some feet high in the air escaping luckily with a broken jaw and to broken ribs:
   
   
   
   Gardner wrecked the Willment Racing Team car in practice, too.
   
   Schlesser / Attwood won the GT +3.0 class, 23rd overall after having repaired a coil wire on the track and throttle linkage problems. Olthoff / Hawkins were third in GT +3.0 class, 47th overall with a failed wheel bearing. Bondurant / Neerpasch had a race accident in first lap, then a broken shock and finally retired with a broken oil line in lap 12.
   
   In the World Championship GT III class Schlesser / Attwood scored 1.6 points for 6th place, while Ferarri scored 14.4 for the first place in class.

How very bizarre, I know entrant #98, Warwick Banks really well. He lives near me and uses the same club bar as a watering hole! Infact we were both at a party in June of another local racing man, Pat Thomas and sat surrounded by historic lotus race cars, and a March Group C car & my Cobra! How very odd that you should post that!

   That´s life. But I think it´s no wonder; we all share the same passion. Say hello to Warwick: Greetings from the "Grüne Hölle". In the Three Litre Plus Class their Jaguar was sandwiched by the two Cobras, which meant a second place in class. However, there were only four cars to finish in this class: "To finish first, you have to finish first".

   My grandpa always said: "Every thing has two sides: right, left, top, bottom"; in real life things are a little bit more complicated than black and white: the greyscales dominate!
   
   If you have racing blood in your venes (mostly originated by british genes ...), you definetely want to win. That´s where the phrase "second is first looser" comes from. I never competed seriously, but made many seconds and always was angry. I always was close to the first like Fisico was in his Force India last weekend. Not would I say that driving any car is same like driving a Cobra; nor would I say that racing is same like winning ...
   
   On the other hand to struggle with competitors in the midfield is more fun than to be a lonesome front runner ...
   
   Worth noting is that on that last weekend of May 1964:
   96 practised,
   81 started,
   46 classified.
   That´s why to bring the car home is a victory in itself!
