Colour change
« on: November 25, 2019, 21:32:27 »
As part of the rebuild of my 16/66 the colour has changed from black to dark grey. Actually it’s called Brownish Dark Grey.
The DVLA need to be informed and I wounded if any of the forum users have any tips or relevant information to ensure a smooth process.

Thanks in anticipation,

Colin

Hi Colin

Really simple just fill in sect 7 on V5c re colour change make sure you use the prime colour description ie Grey as DVLA only use simple colour descriptions and may end up calling it brown if you include full c
 colour name.

Sign V5c and sent to DVLA,

It will come back in about 2-3 weeks.

Cheers  Gary

Hello Colin.
I restored my 2Litre about ten years ago it to was going to be grey. I wanted as close to original as possible. The factory records quoted "Slate Grey". This was a "Jewlessence" colour produced both pre and post war. The closest I could get was Jaguar "Gunmetal opalescent". I've posted a picture of the result.
 Regards Tony.

Thank you. I may wait though now until after Christmas due to the amount of extra post. The car won’t be back on the road for a while, hopefully spring.

Hello Gary.
The paint work has stood up pretty well during the last 10 yrs. A couple of self inflicted garage wounds oops !!. How's your car progressing?
