1995 Ace - scraped
« on: October 22, 2007, 20:42:18 »
Thought somebody may be interested in this listing on e-bay.

Real shame to see an AC  being scraped, I guess the cost of sorting the aly bodywork far outways the cars likely value.

I was going to say that it doesn`t look as bad as the one in the 'Fire Damaged Brooklands Ace' thread, but it appears to have disappeared...
Mr. Admin, did you accidentally delete it?

I'd like to think I'm omnipotent but sadly reality sometimes intrudes.

No he deleted it on purpose after i posted offering members first shout on any parts they may have needed from the car !!
Fair enough take your chances on e-bay if you need anything and dont expect us to offer any more AC cars or parts on here (we also had the fire damaged car)

Rather an unfortunate interaction between the club website and someone that has cars and / or parts that club members may need. The chap is obviously trying to sell stuff to what he rightly perceives to be an appropriate target audience. If cars and parts can be advertised in the magazine, are they not allowed to be advertised on the club website ? "We" seem to have alienated potential source of parts - why? What is the reality intruding that I missed[?]

As a non-ACOC member, I assume adverts should be paid for, and placed in the 'small ads' section of the website(and ACtions), being slightly different to 3rd parties flagging up 'finds' such as 'DGOOSE' here or I have done on occasion.

Hi Nik,
OK fair point, I must admit I never think to look at the small ads on this site.
   Cheers - John.

Hope I havn't opened a can of worms here.

As an AC owner and ACOC member with a particular interest in ME's and Greyhounds I was simply trying to inform like members that parts may be available.

Personally David, I think posts like this are an intrinsic part of what makes the forum so valuable to it`s viewers, but maybe duplicating the same post is slightly excessive [;)]
On another tack, Could you post some photos of the Greyhound, as they are sadly under-represented here and an undeservedly overlooked classic generally! [:D]
