Fuel Starvation Problems?
« on: May 29, 2018, 20:50:00 »
Attempting to start the Ace after an extended period sat in the garage the fuel pump refuse to operate. Removing it hoping to breath new life into it I noticed there’s a short length of hose connecting the pump to the H.P. line where it passes through the tank mounting plate. I noticed where the hose has to negotiate a tight bend to align with the tube the rubber was perished, felt very “soggy” and outer cover split. It was an easy job to replace – just 4 off x 5.5mm/6mm screws (can’t remember which) hold everything together. For anyone experiencing inexplicable fuel starvation problems at higher speeds it would be worth checking the condition of this hose.

Regards the non-functioning pump a few judicious whacks with a hammer didn’t get pump working, but applying full 12 volts direct from the battery did. Worth trying this if you experience same problem.
