Does anybody have a definitive list of colours that were used on the Ace.
   Many thanks, Luke.

Luke, I have a AC colour swatch book but the paint names and reference numbers it gives are for the Valentines paints of the day (1961 but there is a pencilled 62 on the first page)

I believe The Morelli Group should be able to cross reference Valantine Paint codes.
   Try
   email:  headoffice@morelli.co.uk

Were based over in Enfield EN1 1SJ... 18years ago.,[?]
Synthetic paint was fazed out in favour of two pack which in turn health and Safety  then forced another change to water based paint, so shades and exact match / finish could vary.

   Good Luck

Cheers for the help.
I know it is personal preference but I am down to three options. Bearing in mind the interior is black I would be interested to know what others think. All your feedback will be appreciated.

Personally I prefer the dark rich red  to the Silver or light Metalic Blue.

Darker colours tend to complement the gracious lines of the Ace, whereas lighter colours loose the contours.[^]

It's all down to personal taste, some people stick to stock colours some to originality, My BEX333 was old English White when built, then due to racing incidents was repainted  silver blue, then Red  all in the first 6 /7 years, !957/1964) then run around Seattle in bare Ali from 1979 to 1985 when it was repaint Black.[;)]

The Choice is your's,  You are just the Custodian.  Enjoy and drive it as often as possible. [:)]

Luke, standard colours listed in Rinsey Mills' "Original Ace and Cobra" book, taken from a factory sales brochure:

Black*, Red, Maroon, Bright Blue, Beige, Grey/blue, Cream. * = offered with black upholstery.

He also lists a representative selection of colours as:

Middle Brunswick Green, White*, Svecia Red, Gunmetal, Dragonfly Blue, Pacific Green, Mist Green, Silver, Oxford Blue, Heather Metaline*, Vermillion, Mail Red*, Steel Blue Metaline, Black Pearl, Rouge Irise.

Hope that helps (to confuse matters!).

Mine was painted a Porsche silver.
