Greyhound or 612 Scaglietti
« on: August 24, 2017, 23:02:55 »
My cherished Greyhound is becoming too precious for taking it on long road trips across the continent. Upon some research, I found that Ferrari 612 Scaglietti's can bought for about the same price ~£75k).
Fast fwd 15yrs from now, one can't deny that's a pretty good and very driveable investment to sit alongside a Greyhound...

Agreed, the Greyhound is so much more fun to drive around the Surrey Downs. Both have the same grille btw.

I also have thoughts about selling my Ace to buy a modern Ferrari (I love the F12). Such thoughts seem to only occur when I am a little drunk and thankfully that is not too often. Even more thankfully perhaps, even when I was positively drunk I could not resolve myself to Ferrari prices.

This website lets you browse through Ferrari parts diagrams and most prices are mentioned : https://www.ricambiamerica.com/
Makes for interesting reading, e.g. $1280 for a front grille on a 612... ooher.

Even if you can afford it I bet you would feel less stressed about taking your Greyhound out for a casual drive than you would with a 612.

The last really nice Ferrari I had a close look at was the 735 Monza of a friend, but I would have to sell my Ace perhaps 15 times to afford it  :o
