« on: November 08, 2016, 08:38:46 »
Posted on behalf of Matt Feltham:

Dates:  Arriving Tuesday 27th June and Departing Saturday 1st July 2017

The event will be based at The Deer Park Country Hotel near Honiton which is set in its own 80 acre parkland. The hotel is privately owned and is of a high standard with plenty of secure parking for our beloved cars. The hotel has 30 Doubles / Twins and 3 Singles – all rooms will be held until the end of this year for sole use by the AC Owners' Club. If we can take full allocation we will create our own AC ‘Club House’.  The package will include Breakfast, Dinner with wine and excursions (lunches to be finalised).  We are working on a programme of events and details will be made available nearer the time.

   Rooms available:-
SUPERIOR DOUBLE - £1000.00 PER ROOM BASED ON 2 PEOPLE SHARING
CLASSIC DOUBLE - £935.00 PER COUPLE BASED ON 2 PEOPLE SHARING
   SINGLE HOUSE ROOM - £635.00

There are several rooms that have easier access and several that can be twin bedded. Please enquire when booking.  As we are limited on the number of rooms it is therefore essential to make a quick decision; rooms will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

An initial deposit of £250.00 is needed to secure your room and we will inform you of the final balance payment date early next year.

To book and pay the initial deposit please contact the Deer Park Direct on 01404 41266. It is imperative to quote the reference ACOC 17 when making your booking.  If you have any dietary requirements please make it known to the hotel staff when making your booking. To help me with administration once you have made your initial booking and deposit payment, please contact me by email and I will send you a booking form to complete: mfeltham@originalstyle.com

We hope that this international will provide you with a relaxed opportunity to see what Devon has to offer.

   .
A really great event,  49 ACOC owners exploring the roads & very Narrow lanes, and places of interest in and around North Devon. Using the very well put together Road Book that even I managed to Master after just a few miles.

Home safe and sound, clocking up approx. 750 miles.
Carpets out of BEX333  Saturday evening with water still dripping on the floor some 40 hours later.

Nice to catch up with Constant & Dany  ( Luxembourg }, Yuergan & Ursula ( Cologne ) and Hank & Cathy Jesch ( California ) & the Usual ACOC rent a crowd. A cosmopolitan  group living up to the Rally title of ACOC International.

A big thank you to Peter De Rousset - Hall for giving me a dry Navigator seat in his Super Blower.[^].. Spoilt or what  compared to the harsh wet ride in BEX333.[;)]

   A Great 2017 ACOC International.

Hope every one dried out and arrived home safely.... [:)]

Looking Forward to meeting up with ACOC Rent a crowd at the National...[;)]

Matt & Laraine
Many thanks from the Luxembourg Team for this exciting few days in Devon.
   We enjoyed:
   - the colleagial spirit of the ACOC members
   - the very nice hotel with superior parking facilities
   - the excellent food
   - the interesting places we visited
   - the opportunity to drive our mounts under adverse climate conditions and get a better feeling for wet road driving in our beasts [;)][;)]
   - .....
   What a week!
3182 kms (1989 miles) in 9.5 days in a faultlessly working Cobra MkIV!
Left home on Friday 23rd. Pitstops at Lille where we teamed up with Juergen & Ursula, had a good dinner in the city and slept in Hotel Couvent des Minimes (good Cobra parking on top), at King's Somborne for an overnight stay at Andy & Karen Shepherd's home at Pepperwood Park discussing cars and horses ( many thanks to both Andy and Karen), 2 nights at Tarr Steps where the girls convinced me and Juergen to join in on a 12 mile walk through Exmoore NP. After the International we made it down to Mousehole with the Wahns for an overnight stay, and on Sunday stopped at Land's End and had a last lunch with them in St Ives and then headed solo north to Rockbeare near Exeter airport from where we started home this morning for the last 800 kms leg plus channel crossing via the tunnel. Meanwhile we made it safely home, the beast is stabled and dry again and the three days of topless motoring in the rain left no further effect, carpets have dried out during our today's marathon ride to home, under sunny skîes.
Many thanks, Matt and Laraine for having been our wonderful hosts.

PS: a word of thanks also to my valid co-pilot Dany for enduring it all while I had fun at the wheel. Our co-pilots are true heroes, as Mike had so nicely pointed out.

A wonderful event run in the traditional spirit of ACOC  - the friendly Club! Huge thanks to everyone who joined in, and particularly to Matt and Laraine for organising everything so brilliantly.
