Can anybody tell me where I can get hold of some of these.

Have spent quite some time browsing around the web with no real success.

   Thx

We used to go through a lot of these on the early MK IVs. They tended to work loose and drop off. Also on cars with hood scoops we has the issue of the center rear stop being too tall and causing the seam at the center of the bonnet to crack open. We were instructed by the works to trim the stop down to reduce the pressure on the edge of the bonnet. As only hood scoop cars had the multiple piece bonnet skin it was only a problem on those cars.

I do not know what car Autokraft sourced them from as they just sent us a handful to use to replace the lost ones but I would start by looking at 70's/80's UK Ford products.

www.mannering-rubber.co.uk

Click on mushroom buffer and look at part number 17.
I spent ages trying to find these and this is as close as I could get. They will need a little touch of rubber glue but they work perfectly and fall out about as regularly as the originals.

Thank you for your responses.

Have ordered some samples from both suppliers.

   Will report back.

I would be interested to know how you progress. I have been trying to find replacements for years. If your samples don't work, I met a chap at the Beaulieu Autojumble who offered to make a batch of the rubber buttons. His minimum order is 100.

John, the Dorman rubber bits work great in my Mk. IV.  A number of the ones that were on my car had perished and I replaced them with the Dorman bits....no issues and inexpensive. Not sure if you are able to source them in the U.K.?

Have tried the Mannering examples and they fit my early car, although  a smaller diameter than originals they are quite high.

I am waiting samples of the Dorman versions. don't expect to have them before Xmas.
