... The rumor is that there is one Aceca somewhere out there with a V8 under the hood, but nobody knows where it is or if it even exists.
Erm...Not a rumoUr, FACT!
More than one, actually! The earliest one known was AEX566 into which a 283 Chevy engine was fitted in 1957[B)].
There`s THIS ONE in the US:

And lots of us know THIS ONE on the 428 chassis, which exists, in deepest West Sussex!

I believe the one with the large flares (or a similar one) was in a collection in the Seattle area until it was liquidated a few years ago and then I believe the car was sold by Fantasy Junction in CA. In the late 1960's there was a red Aceca Ford V8 in Northern CA it was done at about the time Shelby was creating the Cobra. If I recall these were mentioned in a thread about other V8 conversions (the Mongoose, etc.) a couple years ago.

I went back to Fantasy Junction's sold inventory and found this:
   AEX 688, converted in 1963: http://www.fantasyjunction.com/cars/1007-AC-Aceca%20Coupe-Ford%20302%20c.i.%208-Cylinder

But not the Bill Hart car pictured above. There was another for sale in Monterey (dark blue/green '56 Aceca) on Bring a Trailer and if I recall a yellow one in Texas.

Looks like they're all over the place here in the states!

The Aceca is my all time favorite car. I have bought and sold a few for clients.  I must say that the price tag on the car in Argentina is a bit ambitious.  Like ridiculously ambitious.  Thanks for showing the other cars

   Yes,  Please. !!

Do I get a choice of colour [?].

Joking apart,  A V8 Aceca does make a great package and looking through old issues of  AC Exchange was a standard modification or cheaper  solution to repairing a Bristol  or AC engine in the USA, with the bonus of increase power.

Well, The Price tag is something else, maybe it reflects the hours of work at a Ferrari / Aston  workshop.  ( A fool and his money are soon parted) [B)]

However, A great thread, thank you Nikfor posting a few pictures.

But how serious can you take an Aceca owner who when asked "does it have IRS or solid rear?" positively replies "solid rear!".
