Replacement wheels for 428

Hi, I am nearing completion of a light restoration/refurbishment of CF43 and would like to purchase an additional set of wheels.  The 428 has it's original magnesium minilites but I keep losing the balancing weights after only a few miles.  Has anyone fitted 7x15 wires rather than 6x15 and, if so, can you recommend a supplier? Any help would be gratefully received!

   Yes, I can assure you, the wheels are guaranteed to be straight, and yes I know the 7litre AC Frua is a very powerful car.
   Rest assured the wheels are suitable for this car.
   The central wheel ‘spinner’ is the same on your old wheels and the new.

Hi Mike,
   
   7" wheels are available from MWS at Langley near Slough. I don't know what you feel about originality, but I have fitted a couple of 428 Fruas with MWS 8" wheels shod with Avon Turbosteel tyres from the Bentley Mulsanne Turbo. They look fabulous, and the tyres improve the ride, grip, and road noise. Just a thought. The 428 currently for sale at Hexagon Cars, has them on, so you can see what they look like at http://hexagonclassics.com/cars/ac-428-frua-coupe-automatic-1971/ Hope that gives some food for thought, Andy.

   I originally called MWS but they now only do 6" wheels.  Thanks to Siegfried, I made contact with Turrino Wheels who can do 7" in chrome finish but no longer do 8" in anything other than alloy (over £1000 each)!
   As I will be keeping the original magnesium minilites and tyres, originality will always be a hammer away! I agree the Hexagon 428 looks fabulous. I will call MWS again and ask about the 8".
