Steering Box value
« on: May 06, 2007, 17:01:08 »
I have a chance to pick up an original ACE steering box, but am unsure of its value. Does anyone know how much they go for or if they were used on anything other cars?
   Thanks,

Jay,

Do you mean the bishop cam (e.g. worm drive?). I use a guy in the UK who fitted my bishop cam on my Aceca and Ace, he may know a source.

John,
The bishop cam version is correctis correct, but what I am wondering is the fair market value for one. I have found a guy who has one and wants to get rid of it, but neither of us have a clue to the value of it. I'm pretty sure he'll let it go for a little less than fair market, but I also want to make sure I do not overpay.
   Thanks,
   Jay

I was offered an exchange unit, refurbished by Nigel Winchester. I can't recall the cost, but it was very substantial. Check with Nigel. He has his phone number in the ACOC magazine.

Thanks Gus, John was able to give a good idea on the value, but I'll try to follow up with Nigel also,
