Tremec T5 Transmission
« on: March 31, 2014, 22:42:56 »
Dear all,

The Superblowers were fitted with a T5 transmission. I would presume the CRS's and Mk4's may have all had the same??

However there is a difference between the Mustang 89-93 T5's and the 94-95 T5's in that the input shaft on the 94-95 trans is about an inch longer. I think this was done so the gearbox would sit slightly further back in the chassis of that model year Mustang.

Can anyone tell me which transmission model was fitted to the Superblowers, or CRS's and Mk4's for that matter?

I suspect the part number found on a metal tag bolted to the transmission may assist me in identifying the model.

   Many thanks

   Gary

... I would take and educated guess that they all were the earlier version because in late 94 they dropped the 5.0L V8 and started the 4.6 which matched up with the later t-5 which was an inch longer ?

More than likely it was the T5 "World Class"  transmission serviced under the Ford Racing Part Number M-7003-Z which is the most common unit.
