« on: March 18, 2007, 15:51:55 »

Why dont you visit the ME 300 Web Site? 'www.ac3000me.com' i believe this was set up specifically to assist ME3000 owners to share information.

Try HB Bearings, 01484 665116, www.hb-bearings.com, email sales@hb-bearings.com, part number is SKF 441933E but they are no longer available from SKF.

I had one from them last year - the price is not low but the quality appears to be excellent.

Steve Hall did a conversion to take a standard bearing but by the time you have paid for the machining you are not far off the cost of buying the standard part.  Steve is handy with a lathe which I am not!

As Robin suggests, check out the ME site - the above details are on the Forum there.

exactly thats the reason why i posted here:...i already have all above information.

but before i invest in a  extreme expensive HB bearing i would rather convert it to a more common one.

so any idea about that conversion Steve Hall did?

machining isnt a problem as this wont cost me anything.

Simple Question .As Robin Woolmer asked.......Why didnt you request details on the 3000ME web page.??

Seems strange that The ACOC spend £10.000.00 on a few special parts but the 3000ME Group refuse to use the  ACOC 3000ME  web page. and refer our / their 3000ME owners to some other alian 3000ME web page.

Is there something I'm Missing ?????

However, seems that some ACOC non 3000ME owners have the right contacts,  Hopefully you buy a few bearings and circulate the data to other 3000ME owners....preferably via the ACOC 3000ME web page.

What you are missing are the posts above yours on this page by evo200 and me (as administrator - 5 posts above yours) detailing the availability of these bearings.  The sources are well known through the work of (amongst others) Ian Winter and have been publicised here and on the ME site.  The date of my post above is March 2007.  The 3000ME page on this site was split out from the main Forum in September 2007.

You are fully aware that the 3000ME site started some time before the ACOC site was revamped to include a Forum and was the trigger for the ACOC to revamp its site; by the time the new ACOC site went live the 3000ME Forum was well established.  I and most other ME owners do not believe in re-inventing the wheel.  The no-compete policy between the sites has been discussed several times by the ACOC Council.  I believe (but may be mistaken) that you were present at at least one of those discussions, and after the last one in Sept 07 I added a 3000ME page to the ACOC Forum (as well as an Ace Brooklands page at the same time - these were the last two models to have their own pages).  ME owners have generally shown that they prefer to stick to the Forum on the older site.

As for non-members having good ideas, a number of frequent users of this site are non-members and are welcome contributors.  I hope some of them may one day join the club!
