...From The Independent Newspaper:
The good news: an AC Cobra is up for sale. The bad news: you can't afford it. By Phil Llewellin

Oh, did I mention, this was from December 1995? [;)]
It would appear that it only made bottom estimate, too! What a bargain. [:0]

And it was the actual car! I could have had that in parked in my back garden for £55,000 ten years earlier. I was about fifty grand short....had a funny feeling it would have proved a wise investment :) But am I bitter??

A Cobra but, pedantically, not an AC Cobra:

AC/Shelby:  - cobras made in period (per the Factory Ledger):
   907 (CS/CSX/CSB)
   89   (COB/COX/A98)
   996

Other Constructors: (High Efficiency Motors, Willment, Willment & Unknown Parties) - cobras made in period:
                              3

    Total period production:
    999

This is HEM 6, thought to be the sixth car made by Chessington-based High Efficiency Motors.

...And for that matter, not a Shelby Cobra as well? [:)]
Certainly one of the most well known of the UK Cobras, in period & recent years.
Any news on the repair after the Brundle-bash at Goodwood last year?

But made from bits and pieces supplied by AC Cars Ltd. (So I assume it's a kit car then??)

A former Willment Engineering employee attended the Club presentation made recently in Esher. He was responsible for selling '39PH' in the mid 1960s and confirmed that discussion started at £800. Yes - that is eight hundred pounds sterling!

Which is not far short of what it cost to build the car.
