Are the front fenders/headlamps as strangely shaped as they appear in photos...?

It certainly looks different being on wire wheels instead of the "Cobra Superslots" most of us know it on!
A VERY well known & much campaigned Cobra, seen here in action at the AMOC sprint at Goodwood, 2007:

I have to say my favorite of the meeting was 85 year old Paul Channon showing us the lead in his original AC Cobra that he has owned since 1969 – wow!"

Please visit the GT40`s forum & read the whole thread, it`s very entertaining!

what is to be undestood by:  "Since Channon sold the car it has .......remained mechanically as it was acquired although the bodywork has had the wheel arches returned to the modest 'eyebrow' arrangement as it left the factory and the car has been repainted."[?]

Constant,

The car (excepting its paint/wheel arch/wheel job) is is in exactly the condition Paul left it at the end of his forty year competitive ownership. The extended flares ('workmanlike' rather than elegant) that can be seen in many period photos have been removed to return the wheel arches to original specification.

It is an attractive vehicle to anyone wanting a piece of well-preserved history.

Thanks Robin for clarifying the meaning of "modest eyebrow arrangement"

It appears that the reason the front looks odd is that the front lower edge of the front flares is longer/lower/wider than the original as seen here on COB6046:

Here`s a photo from the Haynes Cobra Day in 2004 that shows the differences pretty well compared to current form:

They may have changed the wheelarches, but couldn`t do much about the bonnet bulge!!!
