Trip report: Cobras at the Carmel Concours
« on: September 05, 2012, 16:33:27 »
I’ve been delinquent in posting my photos from this year’s Monterey Car Week, so here goes...

My first stop was the Carmel-by-the-Sea Concours on the Avenue, which featured 12 original 289 and 427 Cobras in honour of the car's 50th anniversary.  Here they are in order of appearance.

   CSX2100

   CSX2367

CSX2393 - The owner drove this car all the way from his home in Minnesota.

   CSX3142, narrow hip roadster

   CSX2472, an original Dragon Snake

CSX2522, equipped with the Slalom Snake package

   CSX3345, a 427 street Cobra modified to "semi-competition" specification

   CSX2253

   CSX2178

   CSX2543

   CSX2387

CSX3232, another 427 street Cobra modified to "semi-competition" specification

The official Cobra team transporter (which sold at RM Auctions later that week for $900,000).

I also caught a glimpse of CSX2419 looking for a parking spot in Carmel.  This car was also seen at the McCall Motorworks Revival and the Monterey Historics.

There were also two original GT40s at the show.
