Olthoff/csx2130 Goodwood Reunion
« on: August 26, 2012, 18:34:33 »
Just been chatting to Dennis and he tells me that he has been asked to drive Csx 2130 at the revival.[:D]
Which is great news for me as this was his Dad`s car back in the day.
If I remember correctly this was the car that initially had horrendous handling and Shelby was told so in no uncertain terms. His reply.. No crap driver, and sent Miles to England to show how it should be driven.
The outcome being that Miles crashed it first time out as well!! I believe the solution incorporated using wider rims and tires.
Dennis is as good as his Dad,Bob and does well in his red GT40 mk2 in the classic races here in the States.
I consider myself very privileged to be attending the revival to witness this and I`m sure Bob would be thrilled as well. Hope it works out well,
   Ross

I've been looking forward to finally seeing Dennis at work for the past few months! (I saw him drive at a SAAC meeting at Charlotte, but that was just playing around, although someone forgot to tell Bob!) Luckily he will be driving a really well prepared Cobra....should be worth watching as both he and Shaun can pedal hard!

Only a few days to go now guys.

I went to Goodwood for the Revival Test days, a few photos of some of the other cars that will be racing in the Shelby Cup.
