Old 1986 magazine about Cobras
« on: July 15, 2012, 15:43:07 »
Not sure if I'm in the right forum with this as I still know very little about Cobras, but having a big clear out recently I was just about to throw out several old car mags when I saw the name Carroll Shelby across the top of the front cover of an old 1986 American copy of Kit Car. I'd no idea I even had it however I did find an article and some pics of the Autokraft factory together with an interview with Shelby himself, so just in case there's anything new of interest I've scanned both of them together with a list of the contents.

   Hope it's of some help....

As has been said this was an indeed a bitter rant and many of the statements made were contradicted by his later actions.  I am reluctant to speak ill of the dead but take exception to the allegation that he was lied to by Edsel Ford.  Having had the pleasure of working for Edsel for many years I  have to say that I have rarely met anyone  ( certainly not at that level in a large corporation ) who is as honest, straight speaking  and ethical as he is.

So - the AC Ace was a "pile of poop" then. Don't recall that from the period road tests....
