Goodwood Revival 2011 - Cobra's
« on: September 19, 2011, 08:08:00 »
Some photos and videos (at the end) of this past weekend's Goodwood Revival Cobra's are attached for your pleasure.

It was another great event, but with the added complexity of torrential downpours mid-way through the RAC TT Celebration race (i.e. the race in which the Cobra's participated).  Thankfully there were no accidents during the race this year, although Kevin Kivlochan's car caught a little nudge on the front left fender at some point during the race.

Eddie Cheever got up close and personal with the Ferrari 'Breadvan'. More panel-beating for Kevin.....but he was glad he had to put the roof on! Not that he could see anything, with or without the top :-)

Good to see a few original Cobras amongst that line up.

One thing I forgot to mention: Don't, whatever you do, lend your Cobra to Gerhard Berger...
A very unfortunate end to GPG4C's weekend on lap one of Friday practice.

Bruce.

Great to catch up with you for Breakfast and with many other ACOC members during Sunday. Really is surprising how many friends you bump into around the ciruit. Lunch with Bertrand Leseur, Loius and French party. Before time in the Paddock and up on top of the Pits.

I know Peter De Rousset-Hall took about 4000 pictures during the weekend, So should see some good photos  to complement those already posted.

Great TT race but RAIN it did, Standing on top of pit 3 with Tony Byford, No Shelter and  no where to go but grab a brolly.

Eventually dried out before heading onto Tony's then up via Silverstone and home by 20.00hrs,  Still damp but ..... WOTADAY !![;)]

Pity about Graham and Ollies Cobra... GPG4C...[:(] Spa is definitely a NO NO unlless some kind soul loans them a suitable Cobra.

It was a real pleasure to meet you for Sunday lunch at the Revival,

So you where on top of the pits during TT, considering weather conditions I suggest you the next time to be under the top...

Yes it was RAINING during TT...[8D]

Thanks for the nudge. From the 4000+ one or two came out half OK  and having figured out (I hope?) how to work through the process of uploading photos here goes on some:-

Here's Bill's car as Sam tries to trace a missfire late on Friday Evening
By Saturday morning it is cleared

But Kevin may prefer this version

Daytona seems to run OK on 3 wheels

   And 4

And is OK in the rain as well

It's amazing that all the cars survived (relatively ) unscathed

Even a Ferrari in a Cobra sandwich

Hi Peter

So you didn't bother with your Canon 'anti-rain' lens then? And yes, Kevin would much prefer the latter photo ;-) His solicitor will be in touch about the other one...

I switched off that feature in order to better capture the atmosphere:-)  Here's one with it switched back on again:-

You might have removed the Ferrari in photoshop! I dunno - sloppy work. Hand over your cameras (to me)

Strangely enough I had thought of commenting on the fact that I hadn't engaged the Ferrari cloaking switch.  Here is one with it on a very low setting.
