Ol Girl gets down and dirty

Hi Ya all,

After spending a couple of days cleaning stripping and removing leaves with a little de-arching, then re assembly with nice new grease gaiters for the sliding shackle. I then spent a few hours up and down the pit as well as a bit of gentle reclining on the garage floor, putting them back on, all greased up and hey presto she is sitting with a very nice stance. (well I think so).

I will be fitting air shocks to replace original ones to make sure that there is some lift to the front end for getting over any very big sleeping policemen and maybe getting on the ferry ramp to get to le Mans  . These will also allow some extra support as when needed.

Now I can get on with stripping the bonnet for re-spraying and doing the Disc conversion.

A request could someone with a 2 litre do me a favour and measure the distance from the lip edge of the wheel arch to ground for both front and rear arches, please at the wheel centres.. I have lost my little book with my measurements in it (mislaid, dropped, I am sure I'll remember where I put it, is it in the fridge?)

Looks like I have managed a drop of 3.25 inches. Makes it easier to wash the top of the roof
