Mk4 Steering Rack

Can any member please let me know what the steering rack used on the Mk4 Cobra was originaly manufactured for. The car was produced in July 1994.

In response to your question, I asked Gerry Hawkridge who I believe was directly involved with the manufacture of MkIV parts and he tells me the rack is a modified MGB unit. If you need one it may be as well to contact him at Hawk Cars and he may be able to help

Hi guys, thanks for the info and initiative.
   The steering rack on my MkIV needed adjustment already twice (by my local service garage). So I may be in need for replacement soon.
