windtone horns
« on: June 17, 2010, 14:52:23 »
About to re install the two horns which are in front of the radiator. Removed them to dress the contacts and get rid of very sick noise they have been making. Did a minor repair also to the radiator while it was out.

Does anyone know which horn goes where. The are marked L and H but they are handed! Probably matters little, but are the trumpets closer; or further; apart?
   Regards, Bill

Not sure which horn is HIGH and which one is LOW,  However looking over the radiator the cable entry points to each horn are closer to the centre line of the car. The wiring harness is original and has not been removed since leaving Thames Ditton in 1957, so assume all correct.

Not sure if this helps or confuses ........

Thanks, Keith. The cable entry point is determined by where the slot is in the hemisphere which can be rotated to any position.  The other half of the horn includes the trumpet bit. Depending on which horn goes on which side, the two trumpets will be either closer to together, or further apart. Is that apparent from looking forward over the radiator?

Had a closer look through the Grill of BEX333,  the Low tone horn is on the left and the High tone horn is on the right.

   The trumpets are closer !!
