Chrome Bonnet Lock Escutcheons
« on: July 10, 2010, 20:57:16 »
I own  RSX5018 and BEX490 and am looking to purchsse a pair of what I have heard referred to as toliet bowls- the chrome  escutcheon pieces on the bonnet where the bonnet lock key is inserted to open and close it. Our US supplier, Ron Leonard, says the replacemnent units he has in stock are of such poor quality (chrome is bad) he won't sell them. Is there anyone in the UK that supplies these parts (good quality) and if so do they have an email address?

Robert,
Moss Motors carries them as fender skirt lock covers for Jaguars

They are #59 in the picture

I do not know about the chrome quality on these, but maybe some stateside Jag dealers have some quality ones.

Robert,
I was at a car show today and XKs unlimited was in attendance (they deal in Jaguar parts) so I ask them if they carried the budget locks. They said yes and they get theirs from the UK instead of the Orient so I would guess they are probably good quality.XKs unlimited is located San Luis Obispo, Ca and here the link to them

The guy said they are in the XK120 catalog under exterior body fittings. He did not mention a price.
