2010 Riviera Cobra Happening
« on: November 22, 2009, 17:45:28 »
Following the first International Cobra Happening which took place last may in Austria, we decided to set up the second one for 2010 in the south of France, near St Tropez[8D] on may 7, 8 & 9th.
All Cobras, authentics as well as replicas are welcome, as are their "cousin cars" ACEs, Bristols and GT40s...
Please log on our dedicated site: www.accobra.de:annual_cobrameeting or just mail us: claudie.mousset@wanadoo.fr for more details.
   Best regards[:)]

Hi Michel, and welcome to the ACOC forum.
Unfortunately, your link here and on your profile page don`t work, should read http://accobra.de/annual_cobrameeting.

This looks like being a great event, I wish I had a car worthy of attending!

Hello nikbj68

Whatever car you have, come and see us in France, I have a friend who will come down with his caterham, he guided us over the highest mountain of Austria to Millstatt. No matter if you drive a 2CV or a Mustang, come and see!

   Unmentionable! [:I]

Not even suitable as a support vehicle, but IF I win on the lottery, I WILL be there in a Cobra!

Oh for goodness sake, will someone lend Nik a Cobra - how hard can it be? :-)  (and of course I would if I could!)

   OK, not THAT unmentionable!!!
I could 'co-pilot' a Cobra, or go in the boot, I`m not fussy!!!

You should be prepared for a very long weekend because of:

   http://www.acm.mc/gpmh/gpmh_main.php!

Nik, you can drive my Coupé, but be prepared to fill in 250 litres of fuel to get to the South of France (for a one way trip, going back will set you back another 250 litres!). In addition you will be ready for the Sanatory of the Insane after the ride.
So the most important question is, if your car can pull a trailer [:D]!

   TRAILERS ARE FOR WIMPS!!!!
If I start saving now, I might be able to afford the fuel, but I`d have to sleep in the Coupé & bring a LOT of sandwiches!!! [:D]
My Passat is good for towing, but that would be like taking a supermodel to bed, and ACTUALLY SLEEPING beside her!!![:0][:0]

Michael..... I looked it up for you! I would hate to think you went through life not knowing what a "Wimp" was!

   Oxford English definition:

Wimp - Acronym - With Insufficient Mechanical performance.
Usually applied to all Non "AC" manufactured cars & those vehicles that cannot keep up or are of inferior build quality.
All vehicles manufactured after 2002 fall into this category.

Hence "Trailers are for wimps" is a sound and reasonable statement.

That said driving a cobra 1250 miles to the south of France would wear anyone down.
I think 20 hours in a wind tunnel would be a very similar experience!
