The dreaded black underseal....?
« on: November 07, 2009, 13:12:04 »
quote:
1973 428 Chassis CF66 Fastback, auto. Reasonable white paint with some blemishes. The dreaded black underseal over all the lower parts of the body. Interior and under bonnet looked very tired.

What actually is the problem with the dreaded black underseal ? [:)]

Not only useful for hiding Gawd knows what, (careful application of a layer of underseal, sheet of newspaper, then another coat of underseal not unheard of... [:0] )
underseal can, if damaged, allow moisture in, and hold it there,  and accelerate corrosion, then it`s a bugger to get off.
But apart from that, it`s great stuff! [:D]

I don`t know about the latest, but Waxoyling & 'Schutz' spray underseal is probably still the prefered solution.
