Carroll Shelby's personal Cobra 427 sold last Friday at the Mecum Auction, Kissimmee for a whopping $5.94 million (£4.34 million). Here's a video of the sale:

CSX3015  A lesson to anyone thinking that it's easy to make money on these cars, bought for $5million in Jan 07 sold for $4.65million eight years later.  Were the prices inc. buyers premium and presumably the sale incurred commission, so the real loss was probably nearer $1million.
However it's all relative to someones wealth!

The prices quoted above are hammer prices and don't include the buyer's premiums which tend to add 10% or so.
