Car transport company any ideas
« on: October 05, 2020, 19:43:09 »
Hi I need a car transport company to collect a car from Edinburgh and bring it to Kent.  The ones I have tried want a running car or at lest rolling one. The AC I am considering does not run and maybe a bit tight on the rolling front.

Has anyone used a suitable company I can try.

Cheers  G

The inability to roll to any extent sounds like a serious problem to a car transport firm!
I used these people to transport a car a couple of years ago, (but it was rolling!) they were fair value and helpful.

I have not used them and cannot therefore make any comment about them but they have been featured on one car bloggers site that I have viewed occasionally. From my own experience the lack of roll-ability will be a problem.

Cheers  Guys,

I will check these 2 out and have found one that may be able to do it, but need to confirm if it rolls.

Just awaiting confirmation of purchase.

Otherwise I may have to do the trip myself just not looking forward to 1000 mile round trip.

We left Brentwood at 5pm and stayed in the Durham Travel Lodge (https://goo.gl/maps/Nm2HD3XAsYBsd4hW6), we were in Edinburgh for 11am the following day (albeit to continue up to the Highlands).

If you took that approach, you could spend 3 hours loading in the day light, and then be home by bed time. Would there be any other car parts to hunt around for when you're there? That might add value to going in person.

Hi James

Cheers for info. I am still awaiting final decision by owner/son and daughter whether to let me buy it.

Here's hoping.

Do you still need a transport company? My Ace was recently transported to London and back from the Scottish Borders for a photo shoot, by a guy called Belan (tel 07593 805742). He has an open Nissan transporter, was thoroughly professional and conscientious, and good company to boot (he is of Kurdish Turk extraction and has had a very interesting life). I didn't have to pay the bill but I believe it was reasonable. Whether he could cope with a car that was reluctant to roll I don't know.
