Cheers guys

A request could someone with a 2 litre do me a favour and measure the distance from the lip edge of the wheel arch to ground for both front and rear arches, please at the wheel centres.. I have lost my little book with my measurements in it (mislaid, dropped, I am sure I'll remember where I put it, is it in the fridge?) :-\

It seems Andrey is going to persist with this posting.

It is about time the moderator intervenes.

Hi Ya all,

After spending a couple of days cleaning stripping and removing leaves with a little de-arching, then re assembly with nice new grease gaiters for the sliding shackle. I then spent a few hours up and down the pit as well as a bit of gentle reclining on the garage floor, putting them back on, all greased up and hey presto she is sitting with a very nice stance. (well I think so).

I will be fitting air shocks to replace original ones to make sure that there is some lift to the front end for getting over any very big sleeping policemen and maybe getting on the ferry ramp to get to le Mans  ;D. These will also allow some extra support as when needed.

Here are a couple of pics of the Ol girl down and dirty.

Now I can get on with stripping the bonnet for re-spraying and doing the Disc conversion.

Take care all

Gary

Hi Old Crock

Firstly that was not an insult merely a suggestion, as surely there is more in this life to do than post an inordinate number of pictures on the Forum.

I do have an interest in old vehicles, however there is a place for this sort of information. Such as a dedicated forum page, a stand alone webpage, Facebook etc etc etc

Posting all these pictures uses up a lot of space. Also, as has been mentioned there may be copyright issues.

As to calling him Audrey that is my error, the eyesight not being what it was. Andrey it will be.

So Andrey, perhaps you should look at the options available to you to post this information, if a single picture is indeed information ,as it has no accompanying detail of use.

Have a good day and a happy new year.

Christ almighty how many ruddy pictures are there going to be.

Why not start your own website or facebook thingy.

Or get a life!

Audrey

I Agree with Paho also if this is to be of all AC's then maybe the general section of the forum is better placed.

Hi Col

A festive period, so boring as you get older. ;)

The reason for using Perspex (if they ever send me the bits I've ordered, if not I will try some MDF) is that I can refine the shape and get it ready for either laser cut from 10 and 12mm  steel plate or CNC'd in one piece, if I find a suitable place to CNC it the it can be scanned in.

Also looking a some alloy calipers from Hi Spec et al. These would be lighter than the Landrover ones.

It is a slow moving project as I find better alternatives.

Had some great help from the fellas on NRSA.

I had a Chevette and then a Firenza, both great little cars.

Hi Guys hope you had a good un.

Just a quick update re disc brake conversion.

Mocked up some Caliper brackets in 12mm ply. Going to do do them in Perspex to get a better smoother template for them to be laser cut in steel.

All looks to fit.

see pics.
