HI I have been having a sort out of my spares crate and have come across this elbow. Robin Woolmer kindly informs me it is for an Ace.

If it is of use to an Ace owner send me an Email.

Here is a Pic, it is in good order.

Cheers  G

Nearly forgot I also have an oil feed pipe for the AC engine that may well fit the Ace as well, check my 2 litre sect post for pic.

I am taking part as are some of my friends, this is where you obtain a plaque from just giving site/classic and and sportscar mag, sunday times  and some other outlets.

We are going to park in our drives, outside our garages etc so those exercising on the 3rd May can look around the cars whilst social distancing.

The cost of the plaque is £12  and all profit go to NHS charities.

General Discussion / So what is this???
« on: April 24, 2020, 16:41:48 »
Hi

I've been tidying up my AC spares pile of axles and brakes drums, hubs etc and found this, I got this in a large pile of AC spares for 2 Litre saloons. However I do not know of this on a saloon.

My dog has no idea what it is, although he likes the smell of it.

It looks like an anti roll set up but is not particularly thick. I don't want to bin before checking if any of you recognise it.

Does it fit any other AC.  If it does is it any use to you.

I'll hang onto it for a week or so then its  off to the scrap pile.

Cheers  G

General Forum / So what are you doing down the garage during C-19.
« on: April 18, 2020, 19:21:03 »
Hi as we have loads time at mo, what are you doing down the garage. Does not have to be directly related to your AC as many have other vehicles/toys.

Me I'm going over my recently purchased Chevy Astro passenger van, doing a couple of up grades ie EGR blanking, throttle body spacer, Mass airflow mods and a cold air feed to K&N, transmission oil change and new filter.

As for the Ol' Girl she is getting greased, oil  and filter change, planning the install of brake servo.

Fiddling with my Pashley loadstar tricycle, new tyres, polishing rims, adjusting brakes etc.

Oh and considering rebuilding a vintage ladies cycle.

Come guys you must be upto something.

Glad to see FBHVC has sensibly urged all to cancelled any Drive it day activities during the current crisis.

Shame but has to be done.

Vintage, PVT & 2 Litre Forum / The old girl
« on: April 03, 2020, 16:46:28 »
She is driving really well now, on Radials 175/80 Taxi tyres up front and 215/70 on rears. These really help deliver the breaking force to the road, unlike the original 17 wheels on skinny crossply tyres (always terrified me especially in the wet).  The air shocks on the rear have made a great difference to the ride as well.

Last couple of months been bimbling around the local country lanes, doing my bit for the local surgery delivering medications to those older/unwell folk. They love the Ol'Girl and a few remember these cars and those of similar style. One of my ladies is Earl Howe's daughter herself a Lady, she has shared many a story of her fathers escapades.

While I am here anyone ever fitted a remote servo? I am thinking of doing so to aid stopping. What ratio did you use as there seems to be a range 1.6-1, 1.9-1 and 2.3-1.

Lets hope you are all staying safe and playing inn the garage.

God bless the NHS

Watching B&C last night and Derek was looking at a lovely little Alvis and thought it was ugly he even compared it to the 2 litre in the ugly stakes.

Still he does like micro cars so obviously a little strange.

I love my 2 Litre.

Vintage, PVT & 2 Litre Forum / 4 life coolant
« on: November 14, 2019, 10:16:47 »
Hi all,

I am thinking of using the 4 life coolant in the ol' girl, it is a water based system 'not the water less type'.

Has any body used this?, had any problems?

Vintage, PVT & 2 Litre Forum / Colour matching wing piping
« on: November 12, 2019, 15:25:27 »
I am in the process of finally fitting the wings back on the ol' Girl. However, I wanted to get some wing piping that was a close colour to the new paint, I did not want to have the old black plastic/rubber stuff.

So went a hunting on the inter webby thing (I hate technology, but we are stuck with it), I found lots of coloured piping but none were a close match nor a decent contrast. During this hunt I found lots of vinyl Wing piping with a nice grain finish and a company that can match any colour in a vinyl paint, this can be in either a can Min order 2 cans or in a tin for spraying.

I opted for a tin, as get more for your money, it can be sprayed very easily with a small touch up gun. I purchased my piping from Holdens, wiped it down with panel wipe and away I went. Now I have wing piping that matched my new body colour.

The same company also do leather paint/dye.

Here are the details in case any one else wants to do the same.

General Forum / Why is it we no longer get the minutes in Action?
« on: November 12, 2019, 13:09:32 »
I am wondering why we no longer see the committee minutes in Action anymore. It is nice to see what is going on around the table.

Yes I know I could go to the meeting but not really viable.

Perhaps they could be published in the members section on the club site?
