Ace, Aceca & Greyhound Forum / Weber 34 ICH carbs - again!
« on: December 18, 2021, 09:03:45 »
Just thought I'd pop this up again in the vain hope that it may have been missed first time around!

Does anyone have any jetting/general info on Weber 34 ICH carbs used with a bristol engine instead of the ususal Solex set-up?
Any info gratefully received.

Me again, does anyone know if there is a Solex carb emulsion tube supplier??? Prefereably in the UK, but any info welcome.
The carbs are 32B1, same as Ace Bristol, but non-accelerator pump jobs

Ace, Aceca & Greyhound Forum / Bristol gearbox modified 1st gear
« on: November 01, 2021, 18:51:04 »
Does anyone have a information/knowledge of aftermarket/modified 1st gears used in Bristol gearboxes? That is - gearboxes made by Bristol. The modification evidently removed the free-wheel used in many Bristol car g/boxes and also brought the 1st up closer to 2nd.
I'm told that this modification was possibly around in the 80s.
Any helpful info of any kind would be gratefully accepted.

Ace, Aceca & Greyhound Forum / Bristol Cranked spanner wanted
« on: December 18, 2018, 07:38:23 »
Hi All. I'm after one of the Bristol cranked cylinder head spanners or info regarding what else can be used, as I'm sure there must be other ways of releasing/tightening them?
Any pointers gratefully received.

General Forum / Do I need to declare my Vehicles as VHI ?
« on: June 06, 2018, 19:47:06 »
Just seen off the June issue of ACtion, a good read. I read the 'Federation News' pages and I'm still confused (nothing new there)!
My question, for anyone who is completely up to speed with the current situation, is this. Do my old things need to be declared as VHI?
I have the following-
1955 AC Aceca
1935 Frazer Nash
1924 AJS Big Port (motorcycle)
At present none of the above are liable for road tax fees or need an MOT (even thought the on line tax renewal states that an MOT is required for each!!)
The bit about declaring at the next re-licensing seems to be written as if we all are fully aware of the situation.
I don't want to wait till the next re-taxing to find out that I have to do something.
Any clarity greatly welcomed.

General Forum / Members only/ anonymous posting
« on: November 14, 2017, 14:10:01 »
Regarding the post by ‘Big Col’ on the 10th Nov about his disappointment of the ACOC stand at the recent NEC show. Over the past few days the post has morphed into a discussion about whether or not anonymous posts should be allowed.
I would like to ask for input on two things, both of which I feel somewhat strongly about. I ask these things so that if any council member should FIND THE TIME to read it, it could be brought up at a future council meeting.
1/ should the ACOC forum be open to ACOC members only?
2/ should anonymity of those registered be allowed?
   Some thoughts…

As a lot of the posts seem to be members thanking other members about the good times had, event info and people asking for technical information, I can see no reason why the forum should not be restricted to members only.
A lot of the bickering seems to be coming from poster’s who are not members, remain anonymous or both.
Should posters posts automatically carry a sign/banner stating if the posted is a paid-up members of the club hosting the forum and/ or an anonymous poster?
I feel somewhat aggrieved that part of my ACOC subscription is used to enable non-members to slag off things/people/events/situations.
As for the post by ‘TTM’ who seems to be hiding behind ‘Protection of privacy’ shield, I don’t see how things would change much for him/her regardless of the ACOC forum being restricted to members only!?!? My view is if you’re so worried about that, don’t post. After all surely your details are with the administrator?
   Any views??
