The Style et Luxe provides some welcome calm, away from the speed and the sound of the Goodwood Hill. We took a wander around the lawn to select our favourite concours gems.

   The Jensen Interceptor entered the stage in 1966 and was powered by a Chrysler-sourced V8 engine. It was more of a GT car than an outright sports car and featured such ‘luxuries’ as the world’s first dimming interior light. The car on display at Goodwood is the very first production example and is said to be in an original and unrestored condition.

   From one of the first of a breed to one of the last. This 1977 Alpine A110 SX was the very last of the 7,579 A110s to roll off the Dieppe production line. It’s finished in super-rare Normandy Green and features the rear lights from an Alfa Romeo 2000 GTV. These were an option in certain markets, with Renault 8 units fitted to domestic market cars.

   It needs no introduction, does it? This early ‘Periscopo’ Countach is one of only 10 right-hand drive cars built, out of a total of 150 LP400s made between 1974 and 1977.

   This is something you don’t see everyday, not least because a mere 81 cars were produced between 1966 and 1974. It’s a multinational affair, featuring an Italian body, British chassis and all-American Ford big-block V8. Illustrious though it was, sales were hampered by an extremely high price – twice that of a Jaguar E-Type.

Hallo
   Finally we started the restoration of my frua
   As you can see the gearbox is a zf  the same the used by Maserati and the GT40.
   Likely its all factory fitted
   You can also find the picture from the air extractor

   This 1969 De Tomaso Mangusta is for sale on eBay with a Buy It Now Price of $$119,900.

   The seller, Daniel Schmitt & Co. (in St. Louis, Missouri), says it has just completed a restoration and has 36,325 miles. The photos look good and if the description is accurate this looks like a great Mangusta.

   This 1969 AC 428 Frua shown below was listed on eBay at a price of $255,000. It was listed by Hyman Ltd. (also in St. Louis). The eBay listing has ended and it is not on the Hyman web site now so maybe it sold.

   The seller says: “This 1969 example is in remarkable condition with just under 17,000 original miles and has never had, or needed, restoration yet today in metallic silver paint with its original black leather upholstery and interior trim looks crisp, sharp and exquisite. It has been repainted to very high standards.”

   The Questions
   1) Here we have two excellent examples of European styled cars with American power (both Ford powered). Mike Clarke sent me the AC Frua eBay listing and asked why this car would be so much more expensive than a Mangusta. This AC Frua is priced at more than two times the price of this Mangusta.
   Is this justified? The Mangusta is a more beautiful car but I suspect the AC Frua is a better driver. Neither have any racing history and both were made in low numbers, although there are fewer AC Fruas around that Mangustas.
   As a talking point, the latest issue of the Hagerty Price Guide has the following values for condition 1 cars:
   1969 AC 428: $96,400
   1969 De Tomaso Mangusta: $145,000
   I do not believe that price guides are always correct but you can see why this is confusing.
   Let us know in the comments what you think about Mangusta values versus AC 428 Frua values.
   2) The other question – why are two such great cars both in St. Louis?

   I met up with David Sanderson recently. He bought my silver (original colour) 1969 428 Fastback CF 19 from me in the late '70s. Its registration number is OOK 50 G. David ran it for some years, did his usual superb job of respraying it, this time metalic blue, and then it was sold to the US where it remains to this day.
   
   I looked through some old photos of the car with him - these taken in the US and hence, I assume, why the knock on wheel spinners have been replaced with the 'safety' items. We were reminded that some Fastbacks had a small 'Frua' badge behind the petrol cap covers, rather than the usual small 'AC' item.
   
   I don't think CF 19 was unique in this, but I don't recall many other cars being so fitted?

Hello everyone
   Some months ago I bought this car ho was already standing more than 20 years in a barn .
   The general state is pretty good but I go for a full restoration .
   Every feedback is more than welcome .
   
   The car is a left drive en a manual gearbox  green colour
   AC 428 Coupé
   Chassis CFX 13
   Engine  7 H20 F
   Registered in Belgium on 26 04 1968
   A struggle with the system ho to insert a photo , any help please ?
