3.5 thanks for validation on the red oxide and grey primer. No doubt in my mind now that is was yellow over blue.

Fairly certain it was originally a primrose yellow over blue two tone. I have not seen one in this livery. Has anyone else?

There's plenty of pics on Facebook if you're on there. I guess once I join acoc I can post on the forum directly. Haven't played around with photo sharing sites too much for the purpose of sharing. I look forward to staying in touch.

Thanks for the replies. Happy to have moved from lurker status to owner status. I will join the club in January.

For those interested I did start a Buckland page on Facebook that you all are welcome to join. With Martin Ports Buckland moving on to greener pasture at Brooklands I wanted to dedicate a page to the marque. BE774 as to what I'll undertake, yes I feel reasonably confident I could do myself but time us my enemy. I promised my wife I'd farm the project out. I will undertake some of the initial bodywork but it will be going to a shop tbd within 6 months. Gary I have checked out the 2 litre site previously and it is very informative. I've been researching the car for several years now in fact the previous owner of EL1573 co tatted due to a post from 2008 on this forum! I've been waiting for the right car and the values just keep going up so figured now is the time! Looking forward to conversing more with you all soon. Take care.

Ace I'd  be interested in learning more. I'm in search of a buckland. The drive for me is that my grandad designed and built this car at buckland body works. Sam Wightman was my grandfather. Could you reach out to me at dsjw66@gmail.com?

Look forward to hearing from you!

Vintage, PVT & 2 Litre Forum / Twins - HOU 800
« on: September 24, 2017, 06:36:17 »
Excited to say that I was successful high bidder on HOU800 aka EL1382 this past weekend at an auction in Norwich area. Of particular delight to me is that this is the same car that was purchased by my Fathers good friend Dr Blaine Nashold in 1986 and imported to the US. The reality is he bought it because my Dad's connection to his Father (my Grandad) Sam Wightman having such an intimate connection with the car on the design and build front at Buckland Bodyworks. I actually picked the car up with my Dad at the port in Wilmington, NC in 1986. Delighted shes back in the fold. I needed another Buckland like I needed a hole in the head but James Kent made me do it!Thanks again James for checking her out for me before I made by bidding presence known. You are a good friend!

More stories to come I am sure!

Is there a source for the latches that attach the top/roof to the windscreen frame? Looks simple and wondering if another had identical fitted?
