Vintage, PVT & 2 Litre Forum / SPECIAL AT AUCTION
« on: May 06, 2010, 15:14:39 »
I've not seen this one before......

   http://www.peacockauction.co.uk/pages/vehicle/

Tom Dine's opinion is: "The car is LX820, originally built as a 2 Litre Saloon in February 1948, X denoting left hand drive. It found its way to Brazil where I believe the conversion took place. It was used in races in Sao Paulo in the mid 50s and at some time returned home to England. The last time I heard of it was 2005 when it was under restoration. It would appear that it has had another paint job since then as the photos I have show it as BRG with a yellow grill."

General Forum / MOTORSPORT AT CRYSTAL PALACE
« on: April 12, 2010, 18:50:46 »
You may be aware that for the first time for decades there is going to be a (limited) form of motor racing at Crystal Palace on May 30 / 31 this year: www.motorsportatthepalace.com. I have contacted the organisers with a view to ACOC members attending. The organisers have offered the club the opportunity to have up to 5 of our cars as part of the static display on Saturday and Sunday, club members can choose to attend either the Saturday or Sunday or both. Will anyone interested in attending please let me know and I will co-ordinate the arrangements with the organisers.  My contact details are in the club magazine and also in the contacts section of the website.

Ace, Aceca & Greyhound Forum / TOJ and an Odd Ace
« on: March 13, 2010, 10:37:58 »
For anyone (like me) who missed 'Toj - John Tojeiro and his cars' when it first came out, it is still available from the publishers, Havelock:

   http://www.smrh.co.uk/

It's a worthwhile addition to any AC library.

Any comments re this one?  I have no history or other info and have tried B G-S and others but they have never seen it before, although there was speculation that it might have been a 'one-off' Tojeiro.  The reg no isn't in the Ace register as far as I can see.

General Forum / ACOC MEMBERSHIP LIST
« on: October 30, 2009, 19:29:45 »
The ACOC plans to compile a new membership list over the next few months and something we hope to introduce is an up-to-date list of members' emails.

An obstacle to this information being collected is the amount of time it takes to manually type in email addresses to the database.  It is much easier to pick them up electronically.  If you would like your email address to appear in the list please send a message to Tony Michaels at this address:

   tony@tonydmichaels.plus.com

An online membership system is something that will, I am sure, be considered in the future.

   Thanks
