Ace, Aceca & Greyhound Forum / Missing Website
« on: February 11, 2014, 18:13:05 »
I liked to visit the website "AC Ace and Aceca Pictured"
   http://www.acaceca.de.tl/AC-Ace-and-Aceca.htm

It seems to be gone.  Is there a replacement?  A new address?
Or are all those great photographs gone forever?

Give this the boot if it is too far off topic, but today's Bring a Trailer
   http://bringatrailer.com/
   has 1952 Tojeiro #001.
This is (and can be seen in the rear view) the pioneer Ace.
   The price is an eyepopper!

Ace, Aceca & Greyhound Forum / Story
« on: December 12, 2010, 22:42:56 »
In the summer of 1965, I drove my Ace from Los Angeles to Massachusetts. In the summer of 1966, I drove it back.
Good things and nearly disastrous ones happened along the way, including apparently insurmountable mechanical problems solved, in part, by amazing generosity.
I would like to tell the story, but it may run long for this venue.
Anyone want to hear it?  Is there a better place?

Ace, Aceca & Greyhound Forum / "AC Ace and AC Aceca pictured"
« on: November 26, 2010, 00:12:28 »
This may be a website familiar to all, but I just found it.
The only title I can find is the subject line and it is by "Stephan"
   http://www.acaceca.de.tl/
It has categories for Aces, Acecas, Bristols, 2.6's etc.
There are pictures of a staggering number of AC's, including over 200 Ace Bristols.
The car (BEX 275) J Jones mentions as for sale by Jim Feldman is pictured.
The Ace I owned from 1960 to 1992 (BEX 241) is pictured.  That car was totally destroyed by fire, yet it is also pictured in its apparent current condition with a reproduction numbers plate.
   Keith's 333 is well represented.
   Give it a look.

Ace, Aceca & Greyhound Forum / Aceca Project on Bring a Trailer
« on: September 04, 2010, 01:29:40 »
I am surprised no one has mentioned today's BaT with an Aceca in Northern California.
It has some interesting features and features lots of work done and to be done.
It is AEX 756 and is claimed for 1957, probably too early.
It also has a rebuilt Bristol, that wouldn't be original to the car, but worth alot on its own.
I hope to see others' ideas here about this AC.

A search for "Supercars.net" on this forum came up empty, so I'll offer up this link to a plethora of pretty pictures.
Standard apologies in case of a repeat.

Southern Californian Tam McPartland and his webpage continue to have a massive amount of worthwhile things.
Here is a link to Jerry van Kalleveen's BEX316/100D650 in Pumpkin with a four page "Road Test Magazine" October, 1970 article.
Apologies in advance if this latecomer (to the forum if not AC's)doesn't know how to search.[:I]

Ace, Aceca & Greyhound Forum / Some AC Bristol History
« on: November 23, 2009, 21:12:12 »
I couldn't find any earlier mention of this Autosport Nostalgia Forum Thread.
   http://forums.autosport.com/index.php?showtopic=96517
It has some excellent information about a gent named Lonnie Rix and doings AC-wise in the 1950's.
Even if it is a repeat, it is good.

Ace, Aceca & Greyhound Forum / AC's on Google
« on: March 31, 2009, 20:52:26 »
It had been several years since I went to Google Images for "AC," "AC Ace" etc. but with the explosion of Google assets, it currently provides quite a treat.
There is a link to a great pic of Keith's BEX333.

Ace, Aceca & Greyhound Forum / Hello from former owner
« on: February 02, 2009, 00:59:31 »
I purchased a 1957 Ace Bristol from my brother (who bought it new) in 1960.  I put about 125,000 miles on it and rebuilt it in 1967.
I lost it with several other vehicles in a garage fire in 1991, with only major steel components surviving.
I was an ACOC member two or three different times in the 31 years I had the car.
It was BEX 241 with engine 100D557, originally blue.
Do I understand the rules correctly that to view the Members Area and registry, I need to join ACOC again and pay $85 to do so?
   Best regards,
   Jim Armstrong
