General Forum / AC Record breaker on Goodwood website
« on: August 31, 2022, 19:06:34 »
Worth a look to see the car and some history. Freddie Smith used to work at Goodwood and the car was at the Festival of Speed this year.

ACOC News and Events / AC International

Huge thanks and appreciation to Constant, Juergen and Ursula for organising a magnificent International event in Germany. The weather was, well, hot... but the drives, scenery, venue locations and meals were second to none. Take a big pat on the back from all of us who enjoyed so immensely. So who's next...

I have an Aceca Bristol and just went to go out and neither the headlights, rear lights or spotlights will work. Indicators do and if I use the flasher for the spotlights, that works. Looked at the fuses and they all look OK. Any idea?

General Forum / Re: What goes on behind closed doors?
« on: May 05, 2022, 13:56:14 »
Probably an oversight Garry. As to the adverts, Terry is always after articles for the magazine. I know how difficult it is to produce a magazine with a small club membership having been the previous editor. To get 60pp out almost every month is a Herculean effort on Terry's part and thank goodness we do have 'ruddy' adverts, they help defray the cost of the magazine and the better the magazine the more likely we are to attract advertisers. Council minutes will help fill up a couple of pages too so a timely reminder from you to Council! They (Council minutes} should be published, you are quite right.

General Discussion / 2022/23 Renewals
« on: April 01, 2022, 12:11:41 »
Many, many thanks to all the ACOC members who have renewed their subscription, it really is appreciated. We are quite a small club and a substantial part of your subscription goes to producing ACtion, the award-winning club magazine ably produced by Terry Webb and always a good read every month. If you are not sure that you have renewed you can check your status by looking at the renewal date on your profile; if it says 2022 then you will have to renew for the coming year. And to those on the forum who look at these posts and are not members, why not join? It's worth it for the magazine alone besides any other benefits.

ACOC News and Events / ACOC 2022/223 Renewals
« on: February 15, 2022, 08:30:43 »
Just to say that the current year's membership ends on February 28th and I hope that all our members of the ACOC would wish to continue their membership and a big thank you to all those who have already paid by PayPal via the ACOC site, or sent cheques/checks or details for me to take payments. It is much appreciated. Renewal forms were published in the February magazine and there will be further reminders to encourage you to renew! Terry Webb produces 11 excellent ACtion magazines annually for you and the membership fee is worth that alone for the interesting read on all things AC and, of course, there are the events that the Club puts on for your benefit too. And I hope some of you who are members of the Forum but not the ACOC may be encouraged to join, it's extremely good value for the annual subscription.

If you had applied to join the ACOC I would have made your membership run until Feb 2023 but I look forward to you application in March.

ACOC News and Events / National Day 2021
« on: August 05, 2021, 15:52:03 »
Now Covid is not threatening all events we are going to have a National Day this year at the Weald & Downland Museum on the day following the Sprint, ie Sunday 12th September. Not a weekend organised do as in the last few years as so much uncertainty has surrounded the organisation of events but at least we do have a day and a venue to meet up at long last! One legacy of Covid is that we are required to prebook admittance to the Museum but we do have a reduced rate! £12.50 for under 60 and £10.60 for over 60 and £4.40 for children. Full details have been published in the July edition of ACtion and the ad is repeated in the August edition (currently going to press). We have a dedicated parking area away from the public car park and next to the exhibits and on site is a modern cafe with plenty of seating. It would be nice to see you!

Andrew Noakes has approached the club for a nice condition MkIV to take part in a magazine cover feature and photo shoot. Ideally a bright colour (but not red) in excellent condition inside and out and under the bonnet. Location will be either Dunsfold or Longcross in Surrey early in June. He would want the car briefly for a driving compression (the car will be insured separately by the magazine for this). Please contact Andrew on 01584 823340 or 07980 293539 or andrewnoakes@pgan.com

Action is not available on line (it has been said before). The reasons are several but the most obvious being copyright granted to us for photographs etc to appear in ACtion, but not on any other platform.

Why don't you have a word with Gerry Hawkridge, Hawk Cars. You'll get what you want there.
