Hi Bob,

Thanks for the suggestion.
Could indeed be of use, as mine might have a problem. Keep it safe for me please.
See you at Le Mans or will give you a ring.

Many thanks Barrie,
I did some of it but not necessarily to the extent needed. But I checked all fuses and relays also with a simple light tester and found all lines in the fuse box area were hot when required.
I'll have to go through it again with the garage shop's technician, step by step.

I'm afraid though that it will not be done by tomorrow and will have to switch to the yellow mount for going to Le Mans.

Good night for now and we'll keep digging.

Hi Keith and all going to Château Grand Gaigné this w/e and need to find there way....

I realize there is a small error in the road instructions to Château Grand Gaigné. Don't take it personal, Keith  ;) ;)
Rue de la gare is not to be used as the rail road track crossing has long been closed.

Coming from Le Mans on "rue du Mans" D304 , we have to take sharp right onto D242 (rue de la Chapelle Saint Fray), cross the rail road over small bridge and immediately turn left into "rue de la Source", keep all the way right until the street plunges through the fields (see attached).

Safe journey and see you latest on Friday. We'll travel to LM on Thursday.

Hi Graham,
Many thanks for the quick response.
Besides me, a car technician has made same checks as I did before.

All fuses in fuse box and ajacent OK.
Spark at the plug OK.
Tank can breathe, fuel available at the ramp.
Relays have been changed.

Are therer any "hidden" relays in other areas than the fuse box?
Does the ECU carry a fuse or two?

Could an immobilizer (Serpico car alarm) block a solenoid from working?

Wanted to be ready to go to Le Mans Classic in the Mk IV this Thursday, but am afraid I'll have to use another British car for the trip  :-\ :-\

Urgent help needed :-\
My 1993 Mk IV with standard 302 EFI engine does not start.
Fuel pump OK - fuel available at the injection ramp
Ignition OK
Engine is cranked OK
Injectors however are DRY: injectors obviously are not commanded/steared properly or at all.

How to source the problem?
Thanks for any help

Laurent,
If you make a "Search" for "15 inch wheels"  or "Avon" in the Mk IV  Forum, you will find what you look for.

First photo shows the improved cooling for the 460 Cobra Jet engine.
2-stage fan with shroud, now on the backside of the radiator....far better than before.

Hi Hobo, what is the source of the 2 stage sucker fan you installed? How are the two stages commanded?

General Forum / Re: Naming of Parts

....... On a similar topic - is there such a thing as "parts diagrams" for AC cars?
Such a tool is a rather effective way to learn quickly to speak the same language with other owners when discussing technical topics.

"parts diagrams" with the corresponding nomenclature are indeed the optimal solution (like the military "TM 9-801" of WW2 GMC CCKW trucks or the "Coventry Climax Illustrated Spare Parts List" to name just two in my library);

the nomenclature could list original factory name and alternative/later names for the same part...
a hell of a job to complete!

Very interisting subject, Barry Barrie. (corrected after Nik's hint  ;)

Today’s fast communications means do not help the preservation of historically correct nomenclature. This is a general problem not only limited to our subject here. Correct language spelling is to a large extent affected by this phenomenon, by use of abbreviations etc. The French language and its specifically difficult grammar is particularly prone to such deviations and simplifications.
In social media language, “Two” becomes “2” which is also used for “to” … is only a common example, this being transposed also to the common world offside social media. Up to some time ago, we seen signs for WC in a motorway filling station, today we have to follow the “2theloo” sign, whereas this may also have a copyright protection as being a name for a commercial application.

Yes it is indeed a good idea that we, the ACOC, should try to preserve historically correct nomenclature of our cars (that may also have changed over time and model). Could be a subject for student work to create the frame and initialize the collection of data.

Constant (not a native english language speaker... so forgive me if the text above bears misleading spelling  ;) )

General Forum / Re: ACtion article on AC history
« on: March 13, 2018, 20:19:27 »
Roger,
There is much more on Vauxhall's interests in AC in an article spreading over pages 14 to 18 of the March issue of ACtion.
Author is John Spencer, our all so knowledgeable ACOC historian.

I suggest you get in touch with John who will certainly be delighted to share.

(PS: my dad joined the army early 1945. Soldiers were equipped then with British weapons and gear. Maybe therefrom stemmed his interest to drive a British car when he could afford one in the late fifties. So we had at least 3 Vauxhalls at home that I can remember. Interesting to read in John's article about the involvement of Vauxhall in AC, my favourite marque.)

Same car but without line lock and reverse gear block ? Took the pictures during ECM 2014 close to St. Tropez.

I'm afraid you mix up cars here, Uwe; You've seen COX6003 whereas the line lock and reverse gear block is on CSX2075;

many thanks, Silty and Keith,

Guess this is not street legal  :-\ or is it fool proof ?

My modern Mercedes C has electrical "handbrake", acting on rear wheels. I did not yet dare to test its functionality at 60 mph.
