 :)
Excellent news, Jürgen. Oldtimer GP is always an exciting venue! If on top we would be allowed to take a few laps on the GP course, that would be “the cherry on top of the cream” as we use to say at this end. Well done!
And thanks for having secured underground parking at Dreesen’s, just a couple of miles downriver from the remains of the WW2 famous Remagen bridge. The guided tour over the roof of Cologne’s cathedral on the evening of day 0 also looks very promising to start with some safe unusual excitement.

By now there are 23 cars registered for the ACOC International 2020 (half of which have also booked day 0), and although we still have some 8 months to go, it is difficult to plan offsite restaurants, visits and bus transfers before we know how many +/- people will ultimately be amongst our party. Hence a call to all those of you eager to join into the event to book as soon as possible.
Depending on the number of participants, the total cost besides hotels and private expenses will be within the limit of 550 €/person (plus 40 €/person for day 0). To avoid unnecessary hassle with exchange rate fluctuations between £ and € over the next months, and complicated accounting, please do not use the ACOC treasurer as intermediary but make payments in € directly as stated hereafter.

Early booking greatly helps the small organization team to get things going and to guarantee an exciting and stress-free event.

Your booking in 3 steps:
-   hotel reservation at Rheinhotel Dreesen (and eventually the Mariott for day 0 in Cologne) – see earlier posts by AKL 1333
-   email to Jürgen and Ursula at wahn@netcologne.de confirming that you have secured your hotel booking
-   payment of an advance of 400 €/person (800 €/couple) to the bank account opened by Jürgen specifically for the event; if you book also day 0, please add 40 €/person (80 €/couple)

Account holder:   Juergen Wahn

Hope to see you on the Rhine next year.

Hello,
If you intend to join in on Day 0 and book the Mariott in Cologne (night of 4th of August 2020), please proceed as follows, to avoid unnecessary frustrations in the booking process (Mariott is a global operator and you risk to be sent around the world to Service Center operators who do not understand what you want to book for):

- call Mariott at Cologne +49221942220
- select your language option
- select option 3 (=> this brings you to the local operator)
- insist to be connected to the inhouse local reservation team; only they know about this arrangement and are currently in position to take your reservation;
- ask for reservation team in house for booking a room for the 4th of August 2020,  under reference ACOC 2020).
- give them your personal data including e-mail address, for them then to send you a reservation form.

In case you are nevertheless unsuccessful to get what you want, simply send your request by email to Ursula at wahn@netcologne.de and she will be making the reservation for you. You should then be contacted by the Mariott with their reservation form to be filled.

Hope this is of help.
Constant, Ursula & Jürgen

ACOC News and Events / Re: Silverstone Classic 2019
« on: July 31, 2019, 10:41:14 »
I can only join Keith's statements and say many thanks to David for having organized this event and managed to get us a lap on Silverstone's F1 circuit.

Despite the rain, we enjoyed it very much, had seen very good racing on a very wet track, met friends and made new ones. Silverstone was worth the detour from our route from Château Impney to home.
Many thanks to David Skittles for braving the rain to get us all sorted and supplied with the correct wristlets for the lap.

Many thanks to Sarah & Malcolm Thorne and Michael Billingham and partner for having been our wonderful hosts of this exciting event.

Many thanks to all others who helped with the organization.

Having extended our stay in the UK to include Silverstone Classic, my niece Sylvie and I got home on Sunday evening our head full of warmhearted memories of happy motoring in a faultlessly working AC Cobra, together with the lovely folks who make up that particular spirit of the ACOC.

If you are contemplating building up a  Harlequin set  of 2 x  LH & 2 x  RH  Hex AC Wheel Nuts, Please be aware  there were  two different size versions
used by AC Cars.

Not sure of the exact size and /  or why  there were two versions, I helped source a set for Constant Wagner three / four years ago and he might be able to confirm the difference in the  two versions.

Cheers

.
One major difference lies in the thread. I have to dig into my files to see what I had found out at the time.
Hub thread patterns have changed at some point in time.
Question: were early Mk IVs equipped with hexnuts or did they come with spinners only? Maybe hexnuts were only used on the later Mk IVs so there may be only one thread pattern for hex nuts, while there were different patterns for spinners.

Hi Uwe,
The badge is hard plastic and is glued onto the nut.
Try to inject glue remover liquid underneath the badge.

Cheers

@ Migge,

Guess you look for something like this ... ?

This book arrived today .... and will be my favourite reading over the coming months .... should help to understand how the EFI is managed....  :) :)

Good morning,

I would suggest replacing all 3 pumps with a suitable single high pressure pump and add a pressure gauge on the fuel ramp and a fuel pressure regulator, as I think it's the right way to run an EFI set up with minimum headaches.
.......
I think that running 3 pumps is asking for troubles. It probably works but I find this particularly idiotic, especially when a single pump these days can do the same job on a relatively unstressed 302ci normally-aspirated engine.

Hi TTM,
You are defenitely right, however this would imply to modify completely the tank of my car; remember it is a flat underboot tank and unless inmerged into the tank, there is no other way to mount a HP pump low enough to get the necessary volume of petrol required. This is what is assured by the 2 LP pumps.

Constant, have no idea why the photos will not open, have tried on my work computer and even our corporate firewall will allow them to open in Explorer & Chrome, without any issues

Must be a firewall issue of some kind as the photos are only missing when accessing the Forum in the office through our corporate network.
Fortunately here at home I can see all, be it on the tablet or on the laptop. :) :)

Hi Rob,
Cannot see any of your pics attached.
With browser: Internet Explorer, they are indicated by an X in a black box;
With browser: Firefox, no sign of pics at all.

Does anyone else encounter same problem?

Hi Barrie,
Indeed that is exactly what I am doing now. Get my ECU repaired. There is a local company doing such repairs and we wait to have the ECU back.
On the w/e at a local exhibition which I attended with my friend Jean (owner of an early Mk IV with Weber carbs),  I ran into another local garage shop owner who works on period Mustangs and he told me he has all the equipment to reprogram theses Ford ECUs, so would be able to read-out the configuration on my original repaired ECU and copy same configuration on a replacement ECU. Possibly also alter the config.

I'll go and see him when the original is back from repair.
