Hi Glen.
All my dash bits are now bubble wrapped and boxed up ready for assembly later in the year, but here are a few photos which may be of help.
Kind regards Nick

Ace, Aceca & Greyhound Forum / Re: Bishop Steering Box Oil Chage
« on: February 08, 2023, 00:30:18 »
Hi Eddie, you might be able to empty out most of the old oil by using a syringe and some screen washer tube via the filler plug, or if you have access to a vacuum pump even better. Also slackening the brass stator tube nut might allow some of the oil to drain out. You might have to warm the oil up a bit to make it easier to extract.  I don't know exact quantity but I'm guessing it would be to the bottom of the filler hole, other members might have more info on this.
I've used a steering box lubricant on previous projects with steering boxes which is like a blend of oil and grease and seems less prone to leaking around the oil seal, I'll post some info which may be of help.
Kind regards Nick

Ace, Aceca & Greyhound Forum / Re: Bumper end caps
« on: February 06, 2023, 09:10:18 »
Hi John
Thanks so much for the info and photo.
The bottom one looks identical to the ones I've got, although I have got a couple of the other style ones in amongst the boxes of bits.
If anybody can add any more info or photos that would be great.
Depending on which style turns out to be correct I might be able to supply a few extra sets if required.
Many thanks for your help.
Kind regards Nick

Ace, Aceca & Greyhound Forum / Bumper end caps
« on: February 04, 2023, 23:36:48 »
I'm getting a few sets of bumper end caps made, and just thought I should double check that the original ones I have from my car are actually correct.
I've attached some photos, if anybody could confirm that they are correct that would be wonderful!
Thanks in advance.
Kind regards Nick

It has taken quite a while but finally I have got 3 sets of Aceca bumpers!
I'm sorting out the end caps over the next few weeks, (I wanted to wait until I physically had the bumpers here so I can be sure that the end caps are not just going to look correct but also be a really good fit.)
Once I've got the end caps sorted I'll do some trial fitting and post some pictures.

Kind regards

Nick

I may have answered this myself.  Looking through various pictures online, there aren't many showing this rod, but the one I have found shows exactly the same modification. So I'm guessing that it was lengthened by the factory in production, meaning the correct length would be approx 180mm.

Hi all,
I'm cleaning up a few bits ready for painting etc and have found that my accelerator shaft linkage has an extra 40mm approx welded in to make it longer. Would anybody be able just to confirm the correct length please. I'm guessing it will be around 140mm? I've attached a photo which will hopefully explain a bit better!
Any help greatly appreciated.
(This is for the Bristol engine.)
Many thanks Nick

Ace, Aceca & Greyhound Forum / Re: BRAKE FLUID 1960 ACECA
« on: January 01, 2023, 01:47:49 »
Hi Eddie,  DOT 4 will be perfectly adequate and as mentioned  previously you could use silicone DOT5 fluid, but bear in mind the possible problems as noted by PJ Bowman.
I've always used silicone fluid on cars I've restored but these all have new brake pipes, hoses, seals etc so very little chance of contamination.
If there is any chance of old fluid in your braking system then standard DOT 4 is the way to go.
Hope this is of help.
Happy New year!
