Firstly, well done to Bruce. His hard work shows just how well a CRS can be repaired and ensures that any other CRS owners who unfortunately damages his or her car can get it repaired to a high standard.
As to the AP brakes on the CRS, after I learned that AP were discontinuing the parts some years ago so I had BG produce me a set of the special front discs [extra thick, 32mm I think and 40 vane units] for my CRS as spares. They were very helpful and gave a good service.

I am sure you are right about the quality of engineering on the car, given the available pictures. But as to the styling, well the original Cobra is what it is because of the way it looks and the development of its chassis and drivetrain, in fact its blood-line. It has history and people love it for that. Is it not the main point and why Club members are getting so upset about these latest AC's, is the fact that fundamentally if you have enough money you can buy the right to put the famous badge on any vehicle, which has only to have a passing resemblence to the original. While it is the brands owners perfect right to do what so ever he wishes with his brand, at some point along this road the marque looses its tradition/heritage and the brand stops being admired for its history/blood-line.

Sorry should have put MkVI, not MkIV my apologies

This car is chassis number AK1267 and from the photographs appears nicely done and has a good specification. I'm sure anyone who may buy it would take off the tyres as I don't think they have a decent speed rating!!

Thanks for the posts and your efforts on my behalf, it is much apprecited. Have also been recommended a Ford specialised ECU repair company, so after initial conversation they seem confident they can fix the ECU. Makes you wonder if it is a spare that you should have at home for the car? no ECU output, the car is well and truely dead!!!!

In addition to the posts I have read, I have corresponded with both Trevor and Bryan and I am hoping by now the matter will be resolved to all parties satisfaction. But one thing does remain, the last post stated it most correctly, this is our hobby and we all often forget that. The great difficulty is what is currently happening to the brand we all love, in some peoples eyes it is a travisty while in others it as just progress as the marque evolves. Each person has his or her own view on the matter and as long as we do not get personal in our posts we should all be able to carry on commenting.

The loss of Trevor Legate and his extensive Cobra knowledge is a very sad day for the AC marque. He more than anyone knows what has transpired in the murky past of our favourite marque. I have today copied a letter to the Chairman asking why this has happened and will post a response once I receive one.

After I attended the Cobra photoshoot and had a chance to look at/inspect the new MkVI, I did write to the Chairman of the AC Owners Club and formally ask him to seriously consider disassociating the Club from the Mkv and VI models, due to their serious attempt to make the AC marque look foolish and ruin its reputation. I also suggested publically that any of these new vehicles, which have no real blood line back to the sixties original, could and should not under any circumstances be considered an AC Cobra.
Seeing this latest effort only make me realise I did the right thing. Perhaps I am being a little hard as it is only an artists representation of the latest car we are seeing, but somehow I bet I'm not.

Thank you for the kind remarks about the write up. The guys at Classic and Sportscar were very enthusiastic about my work and made a great effort on my behalf, which was much appreciated. If you want a copy of the magazine and still have problems getting one in the U.S.   e-mail me faulknerstevens@btinternet.com   and I'll try to sort something out from this end for you.

I believe Gerry Hawkridge on 001-44-1892-750341 has these lower ball joints in stock. They are Saab units but am unsure of the original application due to the lack of manufacturers part number on the parts I have looked at.

I have just spoken with Jack and he hopes to come and see the AC stand on Saturday at around 1.15pm. It will only be a quick visit but he does want to see the cars.

Hello Jurgen, it appears the MkIV register is to follow all the other models, as I'm told there are 4 others prior to the one I have prepared. Therefore it may very well be next month. Of course as I have told everybody that is about to go live, people have been contacting me with fresh information which I'm trying to include.
This version is about the cars and I would like to have it as accurate as I can so come on guys, info and photos please.

Dear MkIV, I'm sorry I did not read your post earlier. Please, any information about USA based cars especially ones which seem to have fallen off the radar, would be much appreciated. Would you e-mail me directly at faulknerstevens@btinternet.com direct so we can discuss the matter further, thanks
