OK...so I seem to be hitting all the epic jobs on this restoration. Starter motor died yesterday. Direct wired it and its definitely dead.
   Then I found a trail that said you have to take the engine out to change - deep joy.
   Last resort - I am going to replace the exhaust manifolds with headers. Can you squeeze the starter out at the top with the manifolds removed?
   Anyone pulled that off?

   Steps to remove rear disks / rotors from a MKIV?
   Don't want to damage anything by being over zealous with the blunt instruments...

Anyone know where I can get the centre consol trim panel that has the autograft logo on it? Radio sized. Previous owner drilled a hole.....

I have a 1985 AC MKIV with a seized rear differential. Before i start the rebuild process, can someone confirm that the unit in this is a Salisbury 4HU Power-Lok unit?
