They do come up on e bay from time to time.

Also there are other very similar period bottle jacks. The web site www.classic-British-car-jacks.uk has details.

Yes, I believe that the Moss gearboxes are the same but the Ace had a hydraulically operated clutch.

For what it’s worth AEX146 has the single SU pump which was bought from Burlen. It is attached to the rear bulkhead and seems to work ok. See photo.
My car also tends to overfuelling and needs adjustment of the carbs.

Ben

Thank you John for last night’s interesting and enjoyable presentation “AC Cars Around Thames Ditton”. The presentation was done in conjunction with the local history society and was very well attended.

Thank you also for your continued contributions to ACtion which I always look forward to reading.

Kind regards,
Ben Morgan

Eddie,
When this subject came up before the suggested answer was that WT might stand for Wellworthy which was a piston manufacturer originally based in Lymington. The company merged with other British piston/ piston ring specialists into  Associated Engineering Group in the late 1940s.

My Ace also has Low and High tone horns. I think they are Lucas WT614s.

It will be interesting to see what this project sells for relative to “the mortal remains” of RS 5032 which sold recently in the U.K. The Ford engined Ace is much rarer and had its original engine but there seems to be more of this one.

For information:
Aceca AE528 with engine CL2206 sold at auction this week for £48938, inc fees. The car is a half finished project. From the photographs it looks as though the bodywork and chassis have been done but the engine needs to be rebuilt and all fitting up, electrics, interior etc is still to be done.

Luke,
Thanks for the posting the photos. It looks good.

Dear Gary,

Apologies for getting your name wrong and yes I did buy the auxiliary carb body from the same e bay seller.

I’ll need to find the other bits before having a complete auxiliary carb but I thought the body at £32 was a good start.
