Apologies, I've only just caught up with this.
I own BE588 (1957) which has the earlier heater box with integrated heater motor.
But I did also own BE817 (1961) which had the the later square  type with a separate motor ahead of the radiator. The control switch for this separate motor eluded me for a while but turned out to be also  operated by the push/pull volume control when you twisted the knob.  Chris

Nick; even though I have some existing ones (as you saw) they don't match and the chrome ends tend to rust so I'm interested. Do the end caps look like the originals ie pushed into place,  either stainless (at the front on mine) protruding a little from the bumper diameter or chrome at the back (ex a piece of chrome furniture?) and flush with the  diameter of the bumpers?

I had a new aluminium radiator made up for my 1957 Aceca recently by Classic Autos - Nick Finburgh  (07966461960 )-( Nick@finburghs.co.uk ) exactly as my original. Looks right and does a good job. (they're excellent on everything else as well - mechanical and bodywork). Chris

The Aceca bumpers are very simple affairs and would be easy to make up with a pipe bender; two stainless steel tubes front and rear (1" i/d; 1 and 1/16"o/d) with 90degree curved ends and grooves cut in at the appropriate place to clear the over-rider bolts. The ends have push-in stops originally (I think) as per my front bumper with fabricated stainless stops  and (probably not original) as per my back bumper which has chrome stops (perhaps as used in tubular furniture?). The front is 53" overall (outside edges of tubes)  and the rear wider at 57". You also need the over-riders; Ford or Standard 8 items
I have a spare front bumper (ie 2 tubes) you'd be welcome to have; a little dented in a couple of places but perfectly serviceable and would be a model to copy. Could post but a bit of an awkward shape- I'm located in Kent if you could pick up. Chris

The standard Aceca seats do differ (with a flatter side bolster to the bottom cushion) from the Ace ones which are more of a bucket. I know this because my 1957 car (BE588) has an Ace seat for the driver fitted originally as the first owner raced it and wanted the extra support. So you could fit either depending on what you can find/make up. Some Acecas (eg BE817) also had a padded cushion/armrest on the central tunnel between the seats. Chris

The handbrake lever mechanism was fabricated by the factory so can be copied reasonably simply. We have had new ratchets and pawl sets made in the past but don't seem to have any in stock at the moment. The other parts are the chromed tubular lever itself with a sprung 'push on' top to activate the pawl and the sheet metal surround and pivot point which bolts to the rear bulkhead.
John Spencer, the archivist or Steve Hall the spares co-ordinator, might have a drawing. If you're having one made up check with Steve as we would probably have some extra ratchets and pawl sets made up for Club stocks.

David; yes they re MGA coupe but NLA even from the various MG spares people ( please let me know if you find someone!). striker plates are sometimes available. I have been talking to one supplier who said they are thinking of providing a repair kit (presumably the 'star wheel' and axle) but I have not heard from them recently and this would not be sufficient for you anyway. But I will chase them. chris

This doesn't look quite like the one on my 1957 Aceca Bristol (BE588) which is the same as on a 1962 Aceca Bristol I also owned. (BE817), These also have a Bristol 'bent' head spanner and a Bristol plug spanner and a wheel hammer, otherwise it's similar (presumably it's for an AC engine car but don't know why it wouldn't have the wheel hammer). The Garrington spanners are correct; you also have a space for pliers, screwdriver, brake adjuster and a rod of unknown use. I do have some photos of my tray somewhere on the computer but can't find them at present - I could take some more if useful. There was also another thread about 2014 from a chap with a replica who was making a copy tool tray but, again, I can't seem to locate it.

When Jon Sichel had my grill rechromed he used a radiator rebuilder (I don't have the name) as they are used to taking these sort of things apart and rebuilding.
