Ace, Aceca & Greyhound Forum / Re: Greyhound boot catch
« on: June 03, 2020, 19:02:18 »
Hello Trevor
Silly confusion between Perth and Dudley on my part Trevor. Sorry !
Because I'm not sure about posting pictures on the Forum I've just sent by mail
I hope it helps
If anyone else would a picture of the catch let me know
Best regards
John

That will be great Reg
I always think the 24 front and 26 rear tyre pressures are too low for road use and definitely too low for the track so you might be able to experiment a bit
I find 28/30 OK for the road and I'll be interested to hear how you get on
Have a good day
John

Further to the boot handle post I  wonder if anyone knows where the Greyhound heater knobs came from
They are almost MG B but not quite and were used on the Greyhound before the MG B was born

Hello Trevor
I believe the boot handle is  a Rover P4 door handle
I put a list of what I call interchangeable spares in the Greyhound section of the Model Directory  which mentions the boot handle, if  anyone has any additions to this list please let me know.  there are also copies of Road Tests and other articles which might be useful
I don't think we have been in touch and I don't remember seeing  your name as a new Greyhound owner but I'd be grateful if you cold let me know which car you have and perhaps send pictures for the Register
Best wishes and Good Luck
John

We now have a wiring loom with Autosparks as a pattern for new looms, which will have extra tails for
things like rear fog lamps, power point for TomTom etc etc
The price will be available in the New Year but will be about the same as Ace or Aceca ca £400
There may be a benefit in numbers  so please let me know if you are interested . At present we have four.
Also, Oliver Nuthall has had three differential carriers cast ( the aluminium bit of the differential carrying the drive shafts )
so again if anyone needs one of these please let me know
Happy New Year everyone
John

   Classic and Sports Car
Many thanks to John Spencer for his superb display and to Mike Smith
   for encouraging a good turnout
Mike ( Berrisford ) can we look forward to Mick ( Walsh ) getting a drive
    in a 2 Litre ?
I'd be really grateful if anyone could let me have a few pictures of the Duxford Sunday, or the Saturday drive

A further develpment
A few of you have asked if anything is happening on the Friday evening
So I've booked a table at The Cricketers, Clavering, 15 or 20 minutes from Saffron Walden
It's an excellent pub, owned by Jamie Oliver's Mum and Dad and they would look after us very well
For those looking for accommodation they also have rooms and as of today have 12 available for our weekend
Please let me know directly by e-mail if this interests you

That's good Peter
Sorry not to have been able to arrange a hotel for the event but impossible with short notice - and they prefer weddings anyway !
If anyone has problems olease let me know, also it might be helpful to know where you all  find accommodation
A further development is that Clive and I are driving a route tomorrow so you are not off the tulip hook

Thank you Keith, we're looking forward to showing you all a bit of the fens
David is pleased to have an excuse for organising beer so we'll be OK on that one, bottle perhaps ?
And thanks Peter, you're on the list ! As you'll have seen we were  not able to organise a hotel so you'll need to look for B&B around Saffron Walden. Let me know if you have problems
