Congratulations on the wins John. The Aceca looks good in that color as does the restoration. If I recall it was red when I saw it at Walt Peterson's shop in the early 1970's.

In watching a video of the Pacific Grove Rally during this week's Monterey Car Week there was a brownish Acceca and later a V8 powered Acecca was announced as the winner of the Best British Car (or at least I believe that was the award).

Would that have been AEX521?

There was also a nice grey 1930's AC tourer in the event.

Here in the states So Cal Speed Shop seems to have the gaskets (although not individual) available on EBay or you could probably contact them directly. Summit Racing or Jegs should as well but I did not see any listed.

As a 60 year AC enthusiast and club member when I owned an Ace in the 1970's  I'm not sure the forum is meant for this type of use and is the administrator/owner of the site up to the cost of storage space for the information/images and are there copyright issues with the use of images posted. I think this is something which needs coordination with the admisitrator and most likely should be a separate area of the website in a format similar to that of the https://acace123.de.tl/AC-Ace-and-AC-Aceca.htm website or Barchetta site for Ferraris, etc.

The information is obviously of interest to many enthusiast's but I'm not sure this is necessarily the place or format.

It appears to be the same car as in this older video. At the time it was at Classic Car Center of Fredericksburg VA.

Can anyone tel me what the correct engine block color for the Ace 2.6 Ford Zephyr? My recollection is a lighter green but I've seen blue and black and Jim Feldman's car which sold last year appears to be red.

Asking for someone doing a restoration.

Per an old posting the number is 970-259-0108 in Colorado. I knew Ron when he had a sports car parts house in the 1960's in Tucson. At the time he raced a dark green with gold stripe Mustang hatchback.

Are there 2 2131 numbered cars? This suggests that Wilment acquired a 2nd bare chassis from AC as a spare for CSX2131 with the intent of numbering is CS2131 and built the Wilment coupe apparently now also numbered CSX2131 around that chassis.

I have just found a notice in the local Anacortes WA newspaper that Walt Petersen passed away a couple weeks ago. It has been several years since I spoke with Walt and he recounted his history with A.C.'s in California. At that time he indicated that his Aceca had been passed on to his son (in the Seattle area) and was awaiting restoration.

According to the write up at Fantasy Junction, https://www.fantasyjunction.com/inventory/1964-ford-289-shelby-cobra/overview , the chassis was delivered to Shelby as a demonstration bare chassis which was subsequently given a fiberglass bucket T hot rod body for Shelby (which he refused to accept leaving the car at the contractor's shop).

The car was not given a Cobra body until the 1990's (created by a California shop). It was apparently at that point which it was "assigned" the COB 5998 ID.

So it appears to be a period, un-numbered(?), chassis with a replica aluminum body created in the mid 1990's.

The seller also has a photo labeled "AC Cobra Ford Shelby first racecar in debut race Laguna Seca 1962".

 I believe this is really the 1964 USRRC race and the 2 cars shown (#50 and 98) are Ken Miles (the lighter #50) and Ed Leslie (#98).

 I thought the Cobra's racing debut was at the LA Times Grand Prix at Riverside in October 1962.
