   The car is currently in New Zealand and sorry no i don't have the original engine it seems the 260 V8 was fitted prior to the 70's - its actually one of the very early 260's running strangely ported heads.
   
   It's a challenging journey stripping down and rebuilding this type of car - trying to locate various bits is only half the battle

the rumour has it the 260 was installed (overseen) bu Carrol Shelby but i can't confirm. The cam is radical too hot for the street and fitted (confirmed)pre 70's Running a 1965 toploader box - **** she will fly (probably not corner)

   Just to correct John
   
   I'm currently restoring a 1962 Greyhound BEF 2579 one of 3 left hand drives ever built - running a 1962 ford 260 V8 in Whangarei New Zealand - planning to have it running (parading) with the Historic Racing and Sport car clubs meet in December this year to celebrate the 50 anniversary of the AC Greyhound
   
   I'm really enjoying the rebuild and having a target date helps with the motivation

Has anyone information on the shock absorbers fitted to the Greyhound as mine need a general overhaul - and any info on suspension bushes / bearing suppliers would be helpful

I'm currently rebuilding an AC greyhound BEX 2579 (Currently running a ford 260ci C2OE engine) to get it on the road / track for next years 50th but i'm missing the boot AC emblem and need to replace a stolen steering wheel.
   The dash is shot as well and needs to be replaced.
   Any pointers would be appreciated in original parts or replicas
