Re: pair Black leather Cobra Seats with Runners

Ace Seats have a flat back, where as Cobra Have a Curved Back.  Not 100% sure if any  early cobra Seats used flat back as per Ace.
Suggest you contact, Robin Pearce the Thames Ditton Cobra Registrar.
I know of a Pair of Black leather Cobra seats  in UK which were made in 1971 to cobraise an Ace Bristol.
They are in very good condition complete with runners.
If you are interested please fire me a Email.
and I can put you in contact with owner.
Cheers for Now

Had some cast a few years ago, I bought  a few  pairs to help with  club members on their restoration projects.  Not sure if he has any left, but worth shooting ian an email.

Good to learn that BEX1164 ( HRY845 ) is coming together.  I  Have various pictures of  BEX1164 dated 2013 and a few 2022,
  (Minus engine and gearbox.)
I  would appreciate a few up to date pictures and confirmation of engine and gearbox numbers to update the ACOC  Ace Bristol Register.  if that is possible.

Please feel free to refer to me when making contact with Ian,
He can take a while to return a email , if so I can confirm  his Telephone number.

All three of my original Vokes air  Filters have always had a conertina type  dry element. I wash then out with petrol then dry with airline.
Workshop manual states use airline to clean the dry elements, not recommended to soak and refit as the pores could clog.
I have never experienced any problem with the Vokes  air filters  over the past 22 years and 69.000 mile plus use.

Does any one know of supply of original spec filter elements ?

Obit to Frederic
Great Idea.  ..  ..  ..  Luke it would be really appreciated if you could pen a few lines.
Frederic supplied numerous parts to owners and restorers of Ace Bristol's  in the UK &  throughout Europe over the past few years.
He set exceptional  high standards with both  parts and workmanship .  A good example being his reproduction  Ace seat runners which  were a work of art and of such accurate high quality it is a shame they are hidden under seats and  out of sight.
Deep condolences to Frederic's family.

Repro Bristol Cylinder Head spanner
I bought one from the initial batch, i've used it and it was used on rebuild of Kevin Kivlochan's Ace Bristol engine to whilst competing at Le Mans Classic a few years ago. when emergency engine rebuild was carried out by Mike Harrison .
It has been used , abused a little and rattled around in a tool bag for thousands of miles.
Is well made and  has performed well.  Was bought to be used  and shared same as BEX.
Keep looking for an original one  and order one if a third batch ever materialises.

Simon.
The over rider brackets you have at present are to secure the over rider and accommodate twin tube bumpers.

Fire me an email and I can supply you with set of four new correct over rider brackets, just need fine fettling prior to painting.
Reference regular advert in ACtion Magazine.

Ace, Aceca & Greyhound Forum / Re: Ac Aceca Battery type?
« on: November 04, 2022, 09:46:46 »
.

Barrie is correct AC rarely listed any minor changes during production run of any model, Sorry cannot confirm any change to Battery Box / Cradle. The very early Aces especially the first few were really individually hand built and vary considerably to those once bucks and drawings had been agreed accepted and finalised.
As the Acceca has fibre glass foot boxes, Whereas the Ace has Aluminium foot boxes, there could well be variation in construction and size.
Hopefully Steve or Charlie at AC heritage, Nigel Winchester, Aubrey Finsburgh or some other AC restoration experts can throw some light on the subject.
Maybe John Spencer or AC Heritage has an official AC factory drawing?
