Thats not a nice experience.

Many of us have placed ourselves in harms way when buying a car, but luckily I've never had that happen as yet.

   Keep cheerful.

Is it more important that the car gets top dollar or that it finds an owner that will cherish it?

Some people love cars, some people like to own cars as things. The two are different. If it fetches a fabulous price I would bet it won't see the light of day.

To many cars in collections nowadays and not enough actually owned by people that care.

   Just a thought.

I'd love to see some pictures as well, but couldn't find the facebook site.

Do you have a link to it?

   Thanks,

Welcome and I hope you have lots of great times with your car.

There are many people who quietly sit in the background here and don't tend to post. It is a pretty quiet board in general, but if you need any help with specifics I'm sure they'll step forward and help.

All done.

I was trying to login with my forum details and not membership number. A little confusing that.

   Thanks

ACOC News and Events / Memberships renewal glitch
« on: March 20, 2015, 10:34:03 »
I've just tried to renew mine and it won't let me in at all.

I've also stopped receiving club magazines for some reason. Is this because of membership renewal as I've had nothing from the club as far as I'm aware of to say that it's overdue?

I've got a spare handbook that I've just listed if anyone is still looking.

Hi Robin,

Thanks for your kind words. I'm looking forward to finally driving it. It's been a five year slog now, but the efforts are finally beginning to show.

   Did Jean buy the car?

I understand it went to America after Brazil. This is the article/letter from the Action Magazine dated 2002.

This is a picture of it racing in Brazil circa 1955.

If anyone has anymore history on the car I'd love to hear it please.

The answer was a plain.... Yes.

But it's a fairly dull answer and explains very little. It got muddied by the 16" reply, which was not the answer to the question either.

Early cars had factory fitted 15" wheels.

My reply was trying to be helpful.

I agree most were 16" wheels, but both fit and I think the 15" look more period and better on the car.

Richard,

I really hope that you make progress with this.

Very good luck with your project.

I'm doing one that I started with a friend. The enth detail is being put into it in his name. Every time I think of doing less he godes me on!

Your father would be very proud.
