« on: October 29, 2020, 14:27:57 »
As mentioned the 2020 Silverstone Classic was one of many Classic car events cancelled this year.

For 2021, agreed with Andy that we should get infield space for our club to attend this event - and therefore hope the ACOC members will support this event.

As per previous years, the tickets are discounted on a 2 for 1 basis and if booked soonest then the prices below will apply, it should be considered there will be price increases but we will get a 7 day warning and I will post any variation to the pricing along with with revised advert in ACtion. The last day for purchasing tickets is 31st May 2021, in 2019 this date was bought forward as all the in-field space was full.

Ace 'Brooklands' Forum / Wheel tracking
« on: November 12, 2018, 10:55:56 »
having had an interesting to at the Sprint this year losing the front of the 1st & 2nd practice laps coupled with the car tram lining/losing the front all the way round the M25, think better get the wheel tracking checked.

Can anyone please advise the wheel alignment/tracking data (Toe n/Toe out / Camber) for the Brooklands Ace?

thanks David

Ace 'Brooklands' Forum / Quick couple of questions
« on: January 12, 2018, 09:35:01 »
So 1.5 years since the car failed its MOT due to emissions finally have it back together and a fresh MOT certificate issued. But I have two questions:

1. Hot running, I am sure I read a post about our cars running typically at the top of the temperature gauge. Mine runs between 95 - 100, has anyone come up with away to solve the hot running?

2. Underneath the car the bumper section has screw holes as does the front of the sub-frame which would indicate that between these sections there must have been some form of underside protection  - possible chicken wire or even a fibre glass/plastic section to stop road crud or stones. So the question is do you have any thing fitted between the bumper section and the front sub-frame?

ACOC News and Events / Donington Historic Festival 28/4 - 30/04 '17
« on: February 23, 2017, 11:13:05 »
A lucky few managed to attend this Festival last year and I hope a few more members will take up the opportunity to attend this year.

A quick summary of this Festival:
Across 17 exhilarating races, the Donington Historic Festival will showcase some 400 world-class competition machines. Single-seaters, Le Mans prototypes, GT cars, sportscars and Touring Cars will converge on a circuit renowned for fantastic on-track action and superb spectator viewing.

With close-fought racing every day, over 400 historic racing cars spanning seven decades, historic rally car and karting action and a ‘living motoring museum’ created by dozens of car clubs displays – plus a host of other attractions – exhilaration and entertainment is guaranteed, whether you buy a ticket for one, two or all three days! Friday is an action-packed qualifying day, where the drivers will be going all-out to put themselves on the front of the grid. Saturday and Sunday are all-race days, where the battles for the chequered flag will rage.
On each day of the Festival gates open at 07.30am and the circuit activity starts at 9.10am, finishing at around 6.30pm.

The code will appear in the March edition of ACtion but is also shown below:
   17ACOWNERS.

The tickets are discounted on a 2 for 1 basis (children under 15 are free), all tickets need to be booked for parking on the club stand by 1700 hours on 23rd April. Prices are as follows:
   Ticket type Booking Fee
   £16 Friday single ticket +booking fee £0.80 (total £16.80)
£21 Saturday or Sunday £1.05 (so total ticket cost £22.05)
   £30 Friday & Saturday 2-day ticket £1.50 (so total ticket cost £31.50)
   £34 Saturday + Sunday 2-day ticket £1.70 (so total ticket cost £35.70)
£48 3-day weekend ticket £2.40 (so total ticket cost £50.40)
The transaction fee is a one-off post and packaging cost for the total order, and that is the same whether a member is buying one pair of tickets or 25 pairs of tickets. The transaction fee is £1.95 per order for first class post and £6.40 for secure post. Your members will be able to choose their preferred method of postage at the checkout.

I hope you find this Festival of interest and are willing to come along in your AC's, so that others have a chance to appreciate your cars (and of course you get to see some good racing and meet a few of the other ACOC members).

Look forward to seeing you at the Festival

Ace 'Brooklands' Forum / Lambda sensors
« on: January 05, 2016, 11:00:10 »
Having had all the exhaust system replaced, only just noticed that there is no Lambda sensors in front of the Catalyst. So 2 simple questions - should their be Lambda sensors fitted and if so which sensors should be fitted (I assume they vary dependent on the car)?
